Within the last month I saw this meme which made me this of them for a split second. Funny story for us, but outside that idk why anyone who doesn't know them cares anyway.

Reminds me of the California Raisins. I haven't thought about them in probably 30 years.

It's weird to hear that this is so unconventional and considered a risk. I feel like every great game i ever played had a similar system.

Never used cli to install windows in the 25 years I have been dealing with it. I have used dism to remove as much unnecessary crap as I can before installing it though. It only half works anyway since the next feature release reinstalls most of what you remove anyway. These days I just use Rufus to make a bookable USB since it will remove all the requirements and other things by just checking them off as options. GUI is fine after that.

It's sad, but for a lot of people over here this is something they would laugh at and get angry over.

I am, but I am also in a tight spot since I have a kid who has 1 more year left until school starts and we can't really afford daycare. This job has been nice since the work has also been much easier compared to 5 years ago. After that happens I am looking for something new immediately.

My job once gave us water coolers and coffee. At one point the coffee was a big all in one where you can make great drinks with it. Then they took it away because it cost to much. We then had kurigs. They then took away the pods because apparently we cant be trusted and people were stealing them. At least we could still bring ours in! Oh once they broke they refused to replace them so we had no more coffee. Then they took the water away as well once the company claimed it needed cutbacks because it is not doing well. Even the perks are all going away. I remember when I first started 20 years ago we got 2 holiday parties where the company rented a big venue and gave out 10, 15, 20 year anniversary gifts and bonuses and the other party was our department one. Those ended 10 years ago and not a word on anything ever coming back.

The only perk now is that they cutback so much they have no room for my department anymore and we became full remote a little over a year ago. Yay!

By far i feel like in the last week I have seen way more of these busted attempts than any previous year. It's kind of disturbing... you hope they got them all but the more there are the more I feel like theres probably another group that can slip by. Here is hoping I am wrong. Stay safe everyone.

Wasn't really much competition either if you ask me.

Thanks for the suggestion. Says on it's site summer 2026 is target for release. Still a while away, I wonder how long we have with Firefox before this takes over...

This is the same tile that existed when we moved in 10 years ago. Over the years, our kids have splashed water out while playing in bathtub and some toilet accidents... it has caused some areas to start showing hairline cracks revealing the big tile is really just a bunch of small ones placed together. Is there any easy fix to cover this somehow, or will my only real option to redo the entire floor? Thanks!

Thanks for the comments, and the answers are lining up with my thoughts. You are all correct, there have been countless lazy attempts in the house where they cut corners, so it would not be surprising if they did that here as well. Guess redoing this at some point is the #1 option.

Everyone knows one of the best things NJ has to offer is homemade bagels. I was curious what everyone's best bagel spot is. A few years ago, I saw this asked on the other site, and I saw some great suggestions.

I bring it up because today I actually got to try the one that was mentioned the most, and im happy to say it did not disappoint. The name is Bagel Train, and technically, it's in NY but only about 30 seconds over the border. This one may have taken 1st place for me. Before this, my favorite was Hot Bagels in Fairlawn. Has anyone else got some suggestions for the best of the best?

Our 11 year old dog Domino just passed early this morning. She was the world to our family. Sweetest dog I have ever known, and as this was my first pet, I have to say this is an extremely hard day. Here is a pic of her several months ago giving us love. I only hope we gave her a great life.

The Turner Doomsday Video is the internal title of an apocalypticism video intended to be broadcast by CNN at the end of the world. The video, created at the direction of CNN founder Ted Turner before the network's 1980 launch, is a performance of the Christian hymn "Nearer, My God, To Thee" performed by multiple members of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine bands.

It was never seen by the public until it was leaked in 2015 by a former intern.

Pot Roast (lemmy.world)

My favorite comfort food pot roast. Let it cook all day yesterday on low heat. Reminds me of my childhood, of course it's never as good.
