That's like asking if every racist joke should be applied to everyone of that race. That's kind of how stereotype-based "humor" works.

Norf F.C or "Goalposting" is the nickname given to a series of drawings and illustrations originating from 4chan's /pol/ board satirizing Northern English

Yes, 4chan's /pol/ board is certainly a mighty fine moral compass you're referencing there. /s

Not saying any of it isn't accurate for a portion of the population. But it doesn't apply to everyone (we're not a monoculture / planet of hats), and to paint 347,628,682 people with a mural of ugly stereotypes is, well, kinda racist / xenophobic.

For regular debit/POS transactions, yeah, I think that's universal. For ATMs, though, I think it depends on the ATM software, right?
Is it only your bank's branded ATMs that do that?

My credit union doesn't operate ATMs and just reimburses the fees, so I use any random ATM when I need to do something other than a deposit. Some let me do multiple transactions, some don't. Some don't even let me transfer funds, but those are usually the dinky little machines you find in "convenience" locations.

I loved the simplicity of it. It did one thing, and did it well enough.

They had an early mobile app (BREW I think), but it was pretty awful.

I think SMS gaining popularity killed it, and they were too early for the "What's App" era that ultimately killed SMS in a lot of places.

This and the "time warp" pose:

That's what that pose was??

I always thought it was the "I'm about to shit my pants" pose, and I never made the connection to Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I didn't notice it at the time, but AIM away messages were basically like proto-Twitter long before actual Twitter became a thing. Some people would always be "away" so their inspirational crap would show since AIM still let you chat like normal while "away".

vaguebooking that would involve lame-ass "motivation quotes" or worse song lyrics that were obviously about some dramatic thing happening in their life

You've just described like 90% of the AIM away messages in high school lol.

Yeah, probably lol. I guess I just don't pay a lot of attention to who posts what most of the time.
