It's quite thick, 2mm. There are specific leather needles which you absolutely need, probably a good idea to use thicker nylon thread instead of cotton, and the longest stitch length. Also I had to use this stepper foot, the teeth couldn't grip the leather to move it otherwise. All in all it's stretching the limits of what a household sewing machine can do, one of my machines just couldn't do it at all, didn't have the oomph

To be clear I don't think it's necessary at the moment, and the pace we are going at seems to be pretty good really. I just posted something into diy and had to stop and check creative to see which fit better, and it occurred to me that it could happen in the future that the overlap is more significant. Space exp seems pretty amazing. Before factorio I was mostly pouring time into dyson sphere program, it's strangely similar.

Still vanilla. I've only just started using logistic bots properly, converting the factory from centralised to modular production. I'll give mods a try sometime soon but there's so much possibility for expansion in the base game, who knows how long it'll take.
