Tools are pretty good bang for the buck for regular home owners that are handy...

I still would NEVER take my car to be serviced there... I rather set the car on fire

General strike or, if feeling more aggressive, protest directly in front of the news stations. Peacefully prevent their staff from leavind anywhere without covering the event

Americans... this is why you NEED to take the streets now

The same illegality and callousness that keeps the people in power from upholding the law will be in place when they decide you cannot keep your house or should be jailed for whatever reason with no process or even kill you for anything (such as speaking up)... you think you are not affected and keep your head down may save you but it won't.
