Yeah I get that. I also wasnt allowed to pierce my ears. My step father was old old school. Had to do skirt checks and everything. My sister wore shorts one time and he called her a whore :(

I started cutting my hair myself in highschool. My stupid ass stepfather thought it just didn't grow lmao

Sucks we can't get those days back, but I hope today you are able to do as you please.

Honestly, and I'll edit to add direct links, Read the Boy Scout Law and the the Girl Scout Law

Boys are stated to be leaders and "fight for their country" and take pride as such. Girls are state to be public servants and put others ahead of themselves. Pretty gross when I was looking into it a few months back

Girl Scout Law

Boy Scout Law

Hey there! You weren't allowed to cheerlead, I was forced to when I wanted to play football, but I wasnt allowed to play football.

I also wasn't allowed to ride quads or dirtbikes, or cut my hair or skateboard.

It sucked because my girl cousins got to, one of my cousins was the only female football player in our town. My stepfather wouldn't let me do any of it though.

He taught me how to "be a good wife" however... Ugh. I feel you. I let my son be interested in whatever he chooses today. It's not hard to do.

Shit I'll celebrate a sunny day when my whole family is home by simply preparing a nice dinner for us and spending time together, happy and joyful. I'll sing until I've annoyed everyone and we laugh, just because the sun is out and I'm in a good mood. Good moods are worth celebrating as they don't come everyday

Plenty of things to celebrate if you look small. I hope you find something small to celebrate soon!

We have a very old, super popular Italian bakery near me. They have chocolate florotine cookies (my favorite) and other amazing treats.

I do the same, and will stop in there for a special occasion.

This looks great! I'd make it the same way you have here and wouldn't bother sauteing the onions either.

The oil on crust might help brown it a bit more, that's the main reason for doing it.

Gorgeous pizza!

I laughed too, until I raised a toddler with ADHD. He wasn't diagnosed yet, but lord was it obvious he had the markers. Never leashed him, but definitely ran after him a lot, and had to keep a hyperfocused eye on him at all times.

I don't laugh as hard now, I still giggle, but just not as hard

I'm still new to all this, but I was on a hexbear just now reading an article I had searched. The first comment I saw was just talking trash about elmo musty. Nothing bad, pretty tame.

The comment under it from an actual hexbear user said "we don't use ablelist language here". I re read the comment. Was it the word dumbass? It was the only "namecalling" word in the comment.

Reminded me of a time I got banned from a subreddit for saying "the housing market is insane right now" in one of these so called inclusive places, as insane is apparently ableist, and you know, not just an adjective describing something incomprehensible to a wild degree, which can have both negative and positive connotations.

Okay there bud... It's good to learn the places to avoid.

Which is different than starting over entirely

Big facts yes, I hope you got something out of it too

I used this recipe: marthafuckinstewart

Basically only used it as an ingredient list. I did not go to the trouble of melting half the butter with the lemon zest.

I like to instead rub the lemon zest in with the cane sugar when I make these. I do this process with any dessert with citrus zest, idk I just feel like the flavor is bright with this process. I do it first and let it rest 10-15 mins.

Then just cream the lemon sugar with the room temp butter as normal and follow the rest of the recipe. I dont know her oven, but I know mine, and baked them at 350 for 12 mins. Recipe says makes 30 cookies, but I don't play that and made 24.

Delicate little cookies that were very quick to pull off, enjoyed them on a late spring night plated with tea :)

Not the best Picture, I haven't photographed my cooking for social media in years now. But i was surfing the instance and remembered I made this piece of divine dessert about a month ago. I still can taste it

This cake uses a whole lot of eggs, hazelnut praline blended with chocolate pastry cream. This recipe took me two days, and many hours. I followed this recipe here: https://thescranline.com/wprm_print/hungarian-hazelnut-and-chocolate-layer-cake-esterhazy-torte

A few divations, but mostly stuck to the recipe. It calls for 4 round pans, I dont have four so I baked the Dacquoise section on a single half sheet pan, cutting it into four eaual parts after it was baked, with minor adjustments to baking time, thus, mine is rectangular instead of circular like the recipe.

Apon looking at the recipe again today, I also used a Hazelnut Praline recipe from somewhere else. I dont have glucose syrup (corn syrup?) and didn't want to use this ingredient, I found a recipe somewhere (I don't know which one) that made it differently, but used the plaine as intended in the cake recipe. I also wholly skipped the recipe's chocolate glaze on top at the end. I was exhausted by the end and honestly the cake stood fine on it's own without the chocolate glaze.

I messed up my first batch of hazelnut praline, I made candied nuts basically, so I made it again and got it right, and set the "mistake" nuts aside. So in the last step, I decided instead of glaze I would crush them and layed the candies nuts along the edges. The cake was sweet enough already. My family of three finished this cake in less than four days, it was hands down the most complicated recipe, and yet, the most delicious dessert I've made to date. Even if the picture looks sloppy, I took the photo after we cut into it and it sat in the fridge a day, hence the cracking. It tasted even better on day two. It was lovely next to an americano to sip on.

Can't wait to make it again sometime

First ever post, sorry I hope Ive done it right
