Don't give users an ugly prototype for exactly that reason. Also, users conflate looks and functionality so make it don't look ugly. You should give them an MVP. Emphasis on the V for "viable". The things it does it should do well. It should just do the minimum amount of things.

If website operators didn't want to ask for consent, they should stop trying to profit for your behavioral data. But they want to sell your data and have de it from you. That's the only thing not allowed. There are plenty of sites that use cookies and don't need to show a consent banner.

List. I have a shared digital list with my wife. When we run out of something (or when open the last package/box/tin) we put it on the list. But sometimes the list just says "dinner" or "breakfast 2x" and we wing it.
