In general the culture is very much 'you do you'. People mind their own business and don't discriminate much. There is some animosity towards immigrants from some neighboring countries, but you would already know if that was your demographic. Occasionally you find some disdain towards English-speaking immigrants, but I would say that's overshadowed by admiration in general.

Overall I'd say the vibe is positive.

The main concern with Argentina isn't discrimination but economic instability, corruption, and high crime rates. Buenos Aires, its capital, is rough. If you are seriously considering it, my suggestion would be pick another province and ideally bring your own work as a freelancer or similar, because making money can be challenging.

I'm glad to see most people replying yes, I was like "wait, is it not?". The only time I don't see noise is when I look at flat colors on a screen and I'm not a fan.

I believe the technology will eventually be implemented, but most likely not as an external device but as part of a neural chip/link/augmentation. We are already heading in that direction, and I'm certain we humans (unless we nuke ourselves out of existence first) will finally get to the stage in which our brains are augmented with the aid of some kind of artificial implant.

And it's going to happen relatively slowly at first, then faster and faster. And things will fail or will be exploited and yes, one of those side effects might be wiping your memories or screwing up your identity.

Personally I'm not too worried, I don't think I'll live long enough to reach that phase let alone be able to afford any modifications to myself. I just hope humankind learns from the absolute mess that is social media and AI today and can see the obvious risks of implementing something like that. Or not. Just let the world burn down

As a non American who has tried this and enjoyed it as a kid, I have to say the jam has to be grape to hit the spot. Where I live that's an unusual one, I don't usually see grape marmalade when grocery shopping, and the few times I tried to make a PB&J using other jam/marmalade I was very disappointed. Blackberry jam is probably the most passable one though, out of the easy to find flavors.

It's a really good question, I'm from Argentina and I don't have a solid answer. Like someone else said the colonization and history is likely to be part of the reason, but I would like to remark that Argentina has a lot more influence from Italy, Spain, Germany and France, and also Jewish ( iirc Buenos Aires used to be the city with the largest jewish population after New York in the 90's). It's a very different cultural melting pot compared to any other country in South America.

Considering you mention affairs and divorce I'm going to presume you have a relationship you are not happy with.

I can absolutely relate to being exhausted after work. But it's the job you do more than the hours. I've had energy after a 50hr week, yet felt absolutely drained in other jobs with just 30hrs.

Catch 22 then, because you can't improve your relationship if you are reduced to a zombie, and your relationship is supposed to help ground you against the drains of daily life.

The ideal answer would be to talk things with a professional therapist. Not sure if you are in a position to do that. Second best is, talk things calmly with your partner and see if it is possible to cut down hours of work, perhaps move somewhere more affordable, change your job, in order for you both to have more time enjoy yourselves and your family. It sounds like you can do without, but it is important.

Maybe not in the "smart mind challenging" category but there are plenty of craft kits for your budget: paint canvases by numbers, make your own accessories with clay, bead jewelry, basic engineering kits (build your own robot types), dig your own fossil kits, build-this-or-that-with-LEDlights, gardening kits for kids, etc.

My point is to expand your horizon a bit, it's perfectly fine that you want to cater to her intelligence and not just go for something girly in a cliche sense. But she can also enjoy crafting stuff.

It's just extremely difficult for me to hold a value in my head and perform an operation against another. I do understand the operations though, the concept is fine, the problem is that of numerical values. Numbers. I'm horrible with them. Always had problems remembering important historical dates, my own personal numbers (ids, age, etc). Because it's such a struggle it becomes very tiring very quickly, and frustrating. That's what's hard.

I wouldn't go back. You've been there for too long already. Nothing says you need to stick with the new place either. I would be looking for another job if possible, you have a solid decade of holding your previous job if you feel queasy about having a <1yr position in your resume. It's understandable to not like a new position/company change, your previous role gives testament to your potential as a long term employee.

The dog with the hat makes me think of Michael Jackson for some reason

I finally got a job offer! It's still in retail which is not where I want to be, but the company seems more humane than the one I'm already working for. Shame they don't have enough hours for me or I'd quit my current job immediately. Guess it'll get worse before it gets better.

In any way you know of. I find people here are more aware of politics and ethics behind big companies and this is what prompted my question but I'm also curious about any other differences.

I'm in Australia and I've only used Ebay and AliExpress so far. I find AliExpress has more variety and somewhat cheaper prices but I don't know why or anything else.

When I first heard about Temu it was always in relation to dodgy products and sex toys so I didn't pay much attention to it, however lately I keep hearing about people buying regular stuff without issues. Never tried it myself though.

Please help so I can do my groceries properly in advance, thanks

So I accidentally turned backup on with my butt or something the other day, and Google Photos decided it was fine to upload to the cloud all my photos which I keep locally on my device.

I don't need or want cloud backup, thanks very much, and I didn't enjoy having to research how to delete all the images from the cloud while keeping them in my device, and enjoyed even less then doing all of that manually.

Zero out of five stars, I did not enjoy and would not recommend.

Now, can you recommend a free app that lets me browse and manage my own personal local collection of images? My preference is for something with an intuitive, easy to use interface. What are y'all lemmings using?

True answers only plz, don't get my hopes up with lies. I've been a good girl

And if yes, what are the implications? Are times changing for piracy in this regard?

I'm asking since I've been noticing headlines every odd day or so about different streaming sites getting shut down. I don't know if this is because people are sharing these types of news more now, or if it's because in fact the tides are turning significantly and now companies and governments have more control and power over the web.

Is it just me getting fear mongered with these headlines or is it for real? Any veteran pirates out there that can share some thoughts?

go easy on me guys this is the first time I ever have something like a showerthought

I used to be good at time management and very motivated in my career. Then about two years ago I lost a close friend over a strong disagreement and then lost my job.

Slowly but surely I became a bit depressed and had some physical health issues. I'm seeing a therapist already, and a few months ago I finally managed to get a plebe job at a retailer, but when it comes to doing my personal work that would open doors in my industry I just can't seem to find the time and motivation to do it.

Don't get me wrong. I got plenty of time available, I just find myself being ridiculously avoidant or distracted or tired, you get the idea. And, no, I don't use social media much, I don't videogame or binge shows. I just get distracted with house chores or simply overthinking.

I've already tried lists, planning and goal setting ( all this comes naturally to me), but it makes no difference.

I've tried reducing the expectations and goals, no difference. I still don't do anything.

I tried apps to keep track of my progress; also useless.

I've even considered finding a life coach, but I get the feeling they're a scam. Unfortunately I don't have any friends or relatives that can help me stay on track with my goals.

TLDR I'm getting a bit desperate here. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.
