They've been saying that since Cheeto ran for office the second time and look where we are. π

I'm not trying to "Pooh pooh" anything, but I do wonder if the old way of doing things is really effective in today's political arena?
Politicians these days only seem to care about re-election and since people now vote party over individual, I'm having a hard time seeing the effectiveness of such demonstrations. Other then letting like minded people know that other like minded people exist. Something that I think social media has been doing for a long time. But I don't think politicians really fear this kind of thing anymore. I think they know that people are entrenched in their parties and once it comes down to filling out the ballot, they wont care who the person is as much as they do that they are voting for "their side".
But maybe I'm wrong, which is why I'm participating today regardless of my ignorance.
And I'm not saying "don't bother". Try everything you can. I'm just saying that maybe it's time we figure out new ways to do things?
It's an insult to the user. This may be my last Sony console.
Pretty much.
Am I the only one who was thinking βRobert Paulsonβ?
For all mankind lost me in the second season with the affair. Seemed way too soap opera for me.
I love Apple TV. Quite a few good shows as well. I know they don't have as much content as other streaming services, but what they do have for the most part is amazingly good. So I don't mind paying for substance over content.
Silo.
Ted Lasso.
Shrinking.
Foundation.
Severance.
Monarch.
Loot.
Before.
Dark Matter.
And those are just the ones I've watched. There are a few more that are on my list to watch. As long as they keep focusing on good quality stories with great actors and cinematography, I'll keep subscribing.
It was good for the first season when they were more focused on how things would have been different technologically and politically. Then in the middle of the second season there was an obvious shift to more "soap opera" type stories. I lost interest after that.
I love that the people who weren't smart enough to leave Twitter two years ago are now eagerly jumping from one frying pan into another.
Fortunately there have been a few who learned their lessons a bit late and came over to Mastodon.
But the rest of them? The one who tolerated the racism and misogyny that Musk brought with his red pilled idiots? Let them have Blue Sky and the rest of us can watch as history eventually repeats itself.
I've been testing it this morning. Obviously not a lot of content so I've been uploading some old content of my own.
It is VERY bare bones. Still needs a lot of work and effort. You can't even upload an avatar yet. And the character limit in your bio is only 80? Should be at least 250.
It's just going to take some patience. It's only (I think?) two people working on this? So development is going to be sloooooooooow.
Still, I think it's worth the effort. Alternatives to centralized apps are important. Social media deserves to be in the hands of the people and the more we can take away from centralized services, the better.
Was the $100 price ever confirmed? I thought it was just rumored?
