People can just use Mario's bro and if they censor Mario then Nintendo's green bro. I wonder if people will use this opportunity to make Nintendo a word that ends up having to enter review.

People will just use Mario's bro or whatever instead. They going to ban everything Mario related then? And if they do they'll just use Nintendo's green bro. They going to ban Nintendo from reddit then?

I wouldn't expect much from a grifter who was involved in nfts.

Lemmy is linked on their site too

Yeah and people like us are the most likely to recommend alternatives to Gmail to regular users who likely don't go out of their way searching for other options.

It is listed in their community page which adds to the confusion.

I checked since I wondered if there was some other place they are active on other than reddit and Twitter, and if they had their own forum.

Yeah and their battery tech is just far beyond other countries. Was the main driver in convincing me to sell off Tesla and move to BYD couple months ago.

I moved out of Tesla to BYD stocks couple months ago just based on the output and price of their cars and feeling that tariffs aren't going to keep them out forever. Looking good so far.

Even huge companies like Google have encountered roadblocks trying to expand broadband services because of regulations.

PC launchers though is one that can be started even by you on Windows or Linux with the difficulty being getting customers as opposed to whether you are even allowed to make a launcher in the first place.

Companies still fear piracy so DRM isn't going anywhere, and companies are still reluctant to release games on PC.

Hate of monopolies is one I have when a company uses their position to make products worse than it was before like Sony and Nintendo moving to charging for multiplayer. And it's a monopoly on a platform they don't control. There's no regulatory body preventing launchers from popping up like broadband expansion being blocked by government lobbying like traditional monopolies.

When steam shifts in bad direction I'll complain too. For now I haven't found reason to complain about Steam. I like the product Steam offers simple as that. I don't care about the personalities of the CEO or how much money it makes. It's not some checkmark of X is Y so must hate.

But people here don't really care that much about celebrities being here and maybe not even their username being unique. Could probably be anon1, anon2, etc and it wouldn't matter that much, since real identity is probably not a draw for them. Focus on regular people wanting the userbase to want to use fediverse rather than celebrities which is an off-putting first impression and point of sale for lot of people here.

You need to pivot is what I'm saying to achieve what you want.

I'm not here for celebrities and they will always flock to centralized platforms anyways, since they are all about the views.

My instance lemmy.one was down with no status updates for several days. And made realize that I'll probably need multiple accounts should an instance I use disappear. Or a more feature rich accountless experience if I decide to just wait for my instance to come back online as I lurk on another instance.

So seems useful to be able to have a subscription feed and filter list that can function without an account, which would make swapping accounts be a more consistent experience in the event there is a need for account migration due to instance being down or completely disappearing as some people have already experienced and lost their sub list in the process.

Like example of an app with a good accountless experience is Stealth for Reddit. It has no account sign in, but lets users have a personal subscription feed and save function which can be exported to a json file.

Looking for something that has qmk/vial support, hot swap, and in the price range of my first and only keyboard that was the kbd67v3. I am leaning towards wanting to try 60% unless 65% has better affordable options.

Already got cherry mx caps, and switches I like, so just need everything else.

Is it still safe to use as long as apps continue to be updated and is supported by the play store?

How long would you say someone could safely use an Android phone that no longer gets security updates for?

I saw the glorious gaming wooden wrist rest but not a fan of the logo. Is there something better in the price range?

I use a 65% keyboard so don't need a full length one.

I like how long the battery lasts on the k400, the range, and it's such a nice accessory for when I'm on the couch and navigating my PC from the television. Having trackpad right there is great too.

But, the typing experience is really lacking. Has there been any quality options to this?

This video helped me feel less confused after I finished the TV series.

I had heard that framerate should be capped to 3 frames below the max of the monitor.

Do I then go and disable in game vsync, and manually enable Vertical Sync through Nvidia "Manage 3D settings" on a game by game basis? Is on the one I should use or fast for the Vsync setting through NVIDIA control panel?

Or should I just stick with in game vsync?

There's been games that I can no longer download. Apps that are as if they never existed with it not even showing up in purchase history if it weren't for old email receipts. It's pushed me more towards Foss when it is an option.

I wish Android would do better in that department. How does iOS handle old apps it delists. Is it still downloadable for the user who bought it at least?

Would help with finding new communities, and not having to do the URL search thing before subscribing to something new

I have one connected to my Television, but it's a hassle for games to unhook for games I want to play on the monitor for better latency like rhythm games.

I had heard of some third party ones potentially damaging switches back in the day, and wondered if they have improved since then.
