Are you into it? Make sure it's not a prank, then go for it. If not, assume it's like a woman you don't like is interested. Have a short talk about it, make sure he understands you are not interested and be direct but not cruel about it. Don't out him, be respectful about his feelings. Adults do that all the time. The first time is just a little scary, but you will learn to handle that with routine soon.
I like being able to create a task with one click, define a dependency to another task and build a complete gantt diagram very fast. Then just add estimates and a plan of who works when to estimate completion. Then just assigne the jobs and track progress relative to the original plan so I can learn to plan more detailed and estimate Better.
Edit: critical path analysis is Paramount.
Project management. There is one very good but old solution, open project is barely bearable.
