Does anybody actually want one of these things?

No.

Trump's wife.

I've never seen the Legion Go irl but the old one looked like the touchpad was just the right size too be unobtrusive but still practical. The new one looks like a thumb print reader.

Toronto Star is now Globe and Mail, Globe and Mail is now National Post, National Post is now Toronto Sun, Toronto Sun is now Infowars, and Infowars is now The Onion.

"this hour" new year special was actually pretty good except that the Poilievre bit dragged on far too long.

Trudeau's interview was excellent, given the constraints that a PM is under.

Jujitsu with Jagmeet was fun too.

I've never heard "I'm sorry Jon" called gorefield before.

I've never even heard of this before. Is it mostly a rendering library or is it a full game framework like Godot or Unity?

Wait they're still there? How the hell are they still there?

And thanks to the AI customers you can't afford it anyways.

Yeah, likewise. I'm upset about the terrorism of Hezbollah or Hamas, but Israel has quite obviously decided that two wrongs make a right and so is using this nightmare as an excuse to land-grab and settle scores, and the civilians in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon are suffering for it.

Right now I could go create 30 sock puppet accounts to respond to this. Is that really a good thing?

Let government offer the service of "here is a way any human can certifiably identify themselves online" and let people decide what providers they want to give that info to.

If you want to use or run anonymous social media, that's fine.

I don't.

So Westdale is still dotted with "construction" and "road closed: local traffic only" signs even though they finished building weeks ago.

I don't want to hear road workers complaining "why don't people take these 'road closed' signs seriously?" ever again.

This is why people keep on driving normally when they see those warning signs. Because we can see the number of times that there's nothing going on behind the signs. Alert fatigue is real, don't contribute to it.

Canvas locks today.

I have a Logi G935. G Hub has finally stopped pooping the bed and is decent software now. But after a bit over 3 years the G935 has worn out - it's full of loose connections to the right-side earcup and the mic. Very disappointing. Also the earpads are flaking, but that's normal wear.

So, looking for recommendations. I like Logi hardware, but obviously I'm not going to buy another one of these if they're still lemons.

Sorry if this is the wrong community for this.

I noticed that when I click my username menu-dropdown (the profile|settings|logout dropdown) on this Lemmy instance, because the menu is aligned to the left but the button is in the top-right-corner and I have a very short username, it widens the window because it extends outside of the normal right edge of the viewing area.

Here, let me show you what I mean:

picture of bug

note the overflowing dropdown box and horizontal scrollbar. That horizontal scrollbar only appears when the menu is visible.

I was going to log a bug in lemmy-ui, but then noticed that this doesn't happen on my other account on sh.itjust.works. Then I realized the difference: sh.itjust.works has a massive amount of wasteful padding on the sides, and over a maxwidth it just centres the whole site. Meanhwhile lemmy.ca uses the full width of my browser window.

First, I want to say: Thanks! Please use my screen to the fullest extent instead of wasting it on empty bars. If I wanted a narrow view, I'd shrink the browser window.

But I'm curious, is this customization something built into Lemmy or an unsupported tweak to the Lemmy code. That is, should I still log my bug on Github?

edit: confirmed can repro on narrower window on sh.itjust.works, logging bug to github.
