Article by NPR is legit. The only surprising part is that they are reporting on this as if no one has heard of it. This is not news. It’s has been a problem for over a decade. But the more visibility the better.

As the article states, supplying CAD models is a huge benefit. I have specified McMaster parts just because they were available and provided a model all while being slightly more expensive. A rarity in my field.

Because they are dicks? Is there any reasonable justification for not returning your cart? Claiming to be creating jobs is just BS. Either you strive to be a productive part of society or you only look out for yourself. The shopping cart indicator is a decent tool for separating these two types of people.

“Furthermore, Variety claims that Ellison’s goal is to turn Paramount into a MAGA-friendly environment, with content in the TV and movie divisions expected to be more “America-centric” and geared toward “the middle of the country.”

I just blacklisted Paramount in my home.

At least there was some structure. During mass layoffs at my last job all meetings were canceled. Everyone had to sit in their work pens until their manager came and got them for their individual layoff/HR meeting. After years of that every few months I gave up hoping it would eventually be me so I could get out of there. Ultimately had to chuck it in the fuck it bucket and quit. Good riddens.

I’m not a propagandist, I’m an engineer who designs consumer products. As an environmentalist I actively campaigned my last employer in support of bio plastic options. However in over 30 years I have never been able to specify a single part made from bio plastic due to either material properties and/or the cost of raw resin. Like I said, good for the Chinese. But in America corporate greed rules.

Great! But this doesn’t mention cost. Another biopolymer doesn’t matter at all unless it is cheaper than petroleum based polymers. In the end high volume consumer products are extremely price sensitive.

Threesome? If I wanted to disappoint two people at the same time I’d just have dinner with my parents.

Always on. KTM 890 Adventure R. I use the spools plus a prop to lift the bike when I get a flat on the road. That’s much lighter than a center stand. Also it makes lubing the chain that much easier at home.

Weird. Another feature no one asked for? In adventure motorcycling, most riders turn off the ABS when riding on dirt.

Everyone should know this. Share it.

I don’t see that business model working out well either. I’d like to see our youth educated in hard work and being exposed to where our food actually comes from. But motivating teens is challenging. And if it were my child I would rather they experience nature in a way that doesn’t permanently damage their back. I don’t particularly want to see poor immigrants being exploited either. Maybe this whole strategy of destroying family owned farms, and selling them to Vance owned private equity firms could result in a more equitable way of farming in the end? But I know that’s extremely unlikely.

Airplane ears (infosec.pub)

Friday-Sunday rode 700+ miles. Explored dirt roads, ripping tar, and camping in the redwoods. Ended getting soaked in a microburst after crossing the 90 degree Central Valley. Couldn’t imagine a better weekend.

I realize this is a little mainstream, but I like music with a message. I think KL’s lyrics are worth a listen.

Looks cool, sounds awful. I cannot recommend this pressing from the Weather Channel. This is literally the soundtrack to the weather channel from the 80’s. If your first thought was, “there was a weather channel?” NMD
