Yeah, he’s dead. They aren’t getting dues from him anymore got to get theirs somehow!

I am pro union, but I hate gatekeeping behavior that sometimes crops up around them. Not exactly this incident, but I have seen electrical unions engage in some pretty petty behavior in an attempt to push a non-union shop out.

Every time my siblings or I had anything anyone considered a concussion. They couldn’t walk in a straight line, were throwing up when standing up. My sister got a concussion from a bad go-cart crash (it went through the barrier and fake wall). She was shaky on her feet for 3days, and had bad bruising all over her face. My brother fell head first over a raised porch railing into rocks, about 5ft. They had to glue the skin back together on his forehead because they couldn’t sew it the edges wouldn’t meet. Ever since he’s plagued by migraines especially when his sinuses are full. I was doing backflips on a trampoline, landed in the “cannon ball” position on the back of my neck/head. This slammed my right knee into my eye socket, giving me a spectacular black eye. But nearly immediately I got intense vertigo, nausea. If I closed my eyes it felt like I was falling, but I felt so tired. This lasted the rest of the day and I had be injured before noon.

Sure my mom might dramatically call a toddlers spill a concussion. But I my experience she only remembers that for like a week maybe. What she remembers and tells doctors and others about years later are the bleeding throwing up kind. Not saying I can tell she had serious concussions, just it would be really weird to report a little head bump and bruise for this kind of thing.

There seems to be this trend of masochistic behavior in the US. Where we take pride in our injuries and illness, bragging about working and pushing ourselves while we are suffering. The whole time telling ourselves it’s not that bad. It’s definitely stood out more since Covid, it’s stupid behavior though.

Oh, so how dare a (checks notes) children’s entertainer give a fuck about children!

They are estimations. I do give them weight in the to eat or not to eat decision, but I also use my own senses.

I think it was both and the apathy of American voters who didn’t agree.

As someone already stated above feminism and the work of thousands of women over the centuries has done most of the work. But I think it’s diversity as well, insular cult mentality does not survive long when exposed to freedom. And the christians are always running around proselytizing, exposing themselves to pagan ways.

It’s also that they just don’t read or follow the Bible really most of western christianity is just “good vibes”

Here is 1 Corinthians 3-6

“But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man,[a] and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved. 6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.”

Sometimes it didn’t even make sense. I had a project Engineer (job lead) stay overnight with the night shift mechanics who were fixing a weld on our VDL (elevator for car bodies). He said that it was so he could make sure they lined it up correctly and test it. He could have done that when we came in the morning, there was a day shift mechanical crew if we had any issues.

I used to be an automotive controls engineer. 100hr work weeks were not unusual onsite, the norm was 80hrs. And you can end up onsite for anywhere from 2-10 months depending on the job. The 100hr weeks were usually only for a few weeks when production starts up again. But it’s the whole culture, there is a lot of pressure from the customer to get production back up. And most of the industry veterans I worked with loved bragging about the 36hr days they had worked in the past to “get the job done”. It’s like a cult, they get into the mindset of “well I did it so everyone else has to too”.

Oh my goodness yes! Not to mention the whole if you don’t dress “modestly” it’s your fault if you get unwanted attention thing. It’s a grooming ground.

I think it’s intentional, and I like it. Shows the family similarity, and gene/features do tend to express themselves more strongly in the generation after. Or at least in my family experience, my parents are both brown hair and eyed but many of my siblings have the blonde hair and blue/grey eyes of my grandparents.

I was just saying I personally don’t see much benefit in mensa, and therefore don’t particularly find that part heart warming. I also think labeling kids that early is rarely beneficial. It does come off as rather child exploitation-y. But at least it sounds like their parents are doing their best to make sure their kids are raised in a balanced way.
