A coordinated effort to do that on a specific day could be interesting.

but people outside of China can get on WeChat, though making an account outside of China is impossible.

No it isn't, I've done so.

That's why I used scare quotes

The problem is, how it's published and funded is a huge part of the institutions surrounding science, to the point that they've become plesionyms.

Thanks for the info, I didn't realise India-US relations had become quite so dire.

Then people wonder why people don't trust "science"

Everyone responsible for this should be in jail

The first assault on a cyborg using assistive glasses, that processed locally, happened in 2012 https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/countering-mcdonald-s-denial-cyborg-posts-new-photo-alleged-assault-flna895484

Meta glasses process in the cloud because that's what meta wants, the technology is more than there for local processing.

Russia and China being allies is a given. Iran and the DPRK will be on their side too.

Israel, the USA, Japan, and parts of Europe will no doubt be on the opposite side, with the more sensible parts of Europe staying out of it.

India I have no idea, they're nominally a USA ally, but I could also see them trying to stay neutral.

China world no doubt take the opportunity to reclaim the island of Taiwan.

I imagine a lot of Arab states would try to remain neutral at first, but Israel would probably take the opportunity to invade the rest of Syria, at which point some may be dragged into the conflict.

Theoretically a constitutional amendment could be passed. That would require 3/4 of states to ratify it.

5 ring every hour on the hour all day and night, one rings every hour from 8am to 8pm

To be fair those are clock bells and not really about religion.

To be fair infighting is a long standing Catholic tradition.

Getting banned from communities you don't even post on, Lemmy really is a full featured Reddit replacement.

A wild beaver has been spotted in Norfolk for the first time since beavers were hunted to extinction in England at the beginning of the 16th century.

It was filmed dragging logs and establishing a lodge in a “perfect beaver habitat” on the River Wensum at Pensthorpe, a nature reserve near Fakenham in Norfolk.

It is the first time a free-living beaver has been recorded in the county since the species began to re-establish itself in the English countryside in 2015, when a litter of wild kits was born in Devon.
