While Maine's off the list, there are 36 other states where you still can. :(

To be clear, the law says marriage certificates can't be given to anyone under 18. Parental concent does not matter. Unless I missed something in the bill

Maine's been doing pretty good lately. Don't know why Mills didn't sign it though. link to the bill

Unfortunately child marriage is still legal in most of America . Although, some progress is being made.

Beehaw.org has disabled the down vote button/doesn't federate down votes. So you could try posting over there, it's pretty great

I wonder if a forum with real names would cause people to be more respectful.

Permies.com requires people to use their real name (at least something that sounds real) and there's very little toxicity there. Although how much that affects things I don't know, as the mods are very active, and quick to ban.

Many towns use Facebook to post information about meetings, elections, events, etc., and they don't post it anywhere else. Unfortunately you can only look at a page for so long before they make you log in. So without an account you could miss stuff.

The purpose of the policy is to “foster a learning environment that is safe and free from discrimination, harassment and bullying; and (2) assist in the educational and social integration of transgender and gender expansive students.”

Some good news for once!
