It would be a perfect way to stage a military coup though.... You've got a reason to have thousands of troops on hand, military vehicles and armaments of various kinds.

I'm not saying the military has any assertions on staging such an act, and it definitely would not be as desirable as the judiciary or the legislative branch holding him accountable. But... It does seem like a pretty good opportunity to exploit Trump's egomaniacal desire for puffery.

Ancient Christian Magic is an academic source text, essentially an "encyclopedic" source of academic translations of real ancient sources with additional analysis by the listed scholars. The goal of the text is not for you to perform these spells yourself (good luck finding the required ingredients, like crocodile liver), but rather to use for study reference.

That being said, this book is great and I pull it off my shelf and read it to people more than any other scholarly text I own. Something about Christianity and Magic gets people riled up, especially when they find out it mostly just so people can have better sex!

I assumed you were purely a satire account, that you couldn't be that daft as to miss the sarcasm dripping from many of the replies, or your complete lack of human decency. Turns out you are a bot/miscreant that joined less than a day ago to spread your vitriol and muddy the water. Maybe one day the tin man will find his heart.

Big Joel has done a number of videos critiquing PragerU: PragerU PragerU Kids

He's got more videos critiquing specific PragerU content as well, all from a couple of years ago.

Traffic can be absolutely awful in NZ. Largely because there are a lot of natural choke points which don't allow for wide roadways, and the investment in large road infrastructure has not kept up with the need. Auckland traffic is abysmal, as it is essentially one large north-south column with a few trunks.

Christchurch isn't bad, but the highways through the city have a lot of lights and with the traffic load it can take a long time to get places. It's a lot like Winnipeg, it doesn't have freeways to get you around quick without stopping constantly.

Looks like Z-Library continues to be the winning option.

Considering Amazon is an American company, as a Canadian I currently have no qualms ignoring IP or rights holdings of an organization that supports a fascist takeover of my country.

Yes! The Cooper's Ferry village site in Nez Pearce territory contains the oldest verified evidence of habitation in North America, with dates to 16.5k years ago. There is very likely earlier habitation sites, but they will be difficult to find, and many would have been on the coastline that is now miles out to sea due to sea level rise after the glacial melt.

This buffoon couldn't have chosen a worse group to tell to go back to where they came from... They've been there since the glaciers. What a dense, ignorant and racist waste of space... too bad the constituents think enough like him that they vote this hate into office.

This DEI rhetoric, while obviously racist and sexist, I think has deeper resonance than just the immediate backlash to Harris' campaign. The escalation of racial and identity battles in the US today snacks of the rhetoric used in early 30s Germany to limit political access to both Jews and anyone else the Nazis were suspect of (basically any non-'Aryan' - whatever definition they chose to take that to mean). The law for the Restoration of the Professional Civil Service granted them the power to remove anyone from political or civil roles if deemed "unfit". Basically an anti-DEI bill. We already know Trump has sworn vengeance, and we know the Republicans are not above cruel and discriminatory laws. I worry this renewed focus on DEI is priming their voter base to accept not just authoritarianism, but a power structure that openly persecutes groups they have defined as 'the other' (I recognize this is already happening at both federal and state levels, I'm just worried it becomes official, unbridled policy).

Melatonin is quite commonly used as a sleep aid for children on the autism spectrum, or with ADHD, etc. Disrupted sleep, or insomnia can be a big problem and lead to a greater difficulty for children to handle stress or stimulus and can lead to a lot more meltdowns or difficulties with things they can otherwise handle. We used it regularly with our son (as recommended by a doctor) and it made a world of difference for his sleep and then his ability to handle the next day.

Awesome! Isn't that always the way. People, agencies and governments love to put their name on new and shiny projects, but never want to fund labor or upkeep. I work for a non-profit and a big part of my job is begging for money to help us maintain the amazing infrastructure we have, but get very little support to upkeep.

I've spent a lot of time visiting Roseau and Warroad in my life, so it's always nice to meet an American neighbor in the wilds of the internet. Manitoba is actually a cool place to visit, and your dollar goes a lot further. Come up to Winnipeg for a weekend and you'd be surprised how much more there is to do now than even a decade a go. It's food and music scene is awesome.

Howdy Neighbor, you could always move a little further north. We've got lots of people driving EVs up here in Winnipeg! I'm kidding, but there is at least some charging infrastructure coming rurally here in Manitoba, and you are starting to see a lot of commuters using them for 100+ km (one-way) commutes. That being said, we have similar issues if you need to drive long distances between rural centers, but the government subsidies to help install L2 chargers seem to be making a difference as more and more municipalities are installing at least one charger somewhere. I can understand how people are still hesitant about winter, with -20C (-5f) to -30C(-30f) being not uncommon (for now...).
