If you are not neurotypical, especially if ADHD and/or ASD are involved, you're not and never will be "like other people".

I try and remind myself about this. But It fucking sucks that some people diagnose themselves with ADHD, but have no problems doing stuff. Then I have to fight my mind and not compare myself to other people. Irl, I guess you just have to suck up, I remember my boss telling me I was a disappointment compared to my colleagues. People suck.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Oh okay, I didn't know about this. I will check this out in detail.

If, like many with ADHD including myself (this was a fun thing to become aware of well into adulthood), you are not super comfortable with your emotions and/or have alexithymia (trouble identifying, describing, and expressing ones own emotions), it could be useful to find an emotion wheel or feelings wheel.

I think I understand my feelings most of the time, but I do have difficulty controlling them.

I have had trouble explaining why I can't sometimes work for more than 15-20 minutes, but I've always attributed that to stress anxiety. Like my body and brain just stop and refuse to work all together untill I shake that feeling off.

Thanks for the very comprehensive answer internet stranger, I appreciate it. The feeling wheel and DBT are something I'll check out.

How do you manage between difficult and simple tasks? And Do you do the simple items first or the tough ones?

I've found myself of two minds about this.

Completing smaller simpler tasks feels fulfilling in that moment and helps boost productivity but doesn't feel so good from a broader look back at them.

Whereas finishing difficult tasks feels really good but they can sometimes keep going on and on and on and feel never ending. They might take up a whole day and in that I might miss the small tasks.

Thanks for your reply.

Yup 👍, none of the meds available in my country worked.

I've been rawdogging ever since.

Any advice on how to do work like other people? I am quick to grab my phone everytime I get even slightly stressed or don't immediately know the answer to a problem.

And it takes a lot of time for me to do something, it takes other very little (at least compared to me). Any advice on that?

not legal

I don't know this, but I am willing to bet it's not legal because of the segregation era suburban dystopia laws.

I dunno, wouldn't it be cheaper to make and wouldn't be easier to look after as well? (Having all the plumbing, heating, wiring, AC in one place)

Independent homes require a lot of work and maintenance, compared to shared Apartment buildings.

Sanitary wise, I could see it being a problem in both the cases. It really depends on the people.

Besides, just because you have land doesn't mean you should use it. Trust me, living in a place where there's virtual no trees to look at, I'd prefer to just live in a shared Apartment and enjoy the view (that's going by the picture and if there's one).

Americans are too scared of apartment buildings because it reminds them of the projects, imo. That apartments are a poor person thing.

All religions suck. Even if you make a religion that's normal, people will make it weird.

Are spectra.video and lethallava.land special? Idk about them.

Also didn't mean to diss you, just that, I as a new person to lemmy would have avoided them. There's a mix of rational and irrational fear for weird looking links in me.

The domain names don't seem very inviting.

Shit is subjective. As long as you love your own shit or the process of it, you are good.

The GenP subreddit got banned on Reddit. We can only take a guess as to why(I seriously don't know, please let me know if you do).

But regardless, it brings up a serious question. How will big corpos and nations force their control on lemmy and other fediverse communities?

Places like reddit, twitter, instagram and even "fediverse" bluesky cave to demands from corporates and countries all the time. But what happens when the real fediverse platforms get attention?

How will they ban, sabotage and coerce instances and communities to cave into demands?

I know lemmy and other fediverse platforms are still very small right now, but I believe it's only time before the sabotage begins. Instagram stepping into the territory tells you how scared zuck already is.

And How will we get around this?

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to ask. I really like voyager, it makes accessing lemmy very easy and aesthetic for someone who's new to fediverse.

There's a small feature I think would greatly enhance the experience:

Two wide buttons - (save) & (share), just below the image, whenever a user clicks on the image.

Like how bluesky does it. (I can't upload a reference image as I am still new to lemmy)

It would make things so much more intuitive and I love to download images. It's one thing I didn't like about reddit - Saving images was a pain in the ass.
