There is an app, but it’s not receiving updates at the moment. They’re doing a complete re-write. The iOS app has been released, and it’s fantastic. The Infuse app is a great band-aid for the time being.

Not that I’m aware of. Internet people, idk, nor do I care. Super sad to see them leave. I’ve been running Asahi since the beginning and love it.
The only thing Plex has on Jellyfin are client apps. Sever-side… Jellyfin hands down. I was super surprised to see av1 transcoding support… In Plex we JUST got HEVC.
I’m not hating on Plex by any means, but when I have an issue with Plex, Jellyfin picks up the slack. I’ll be using Jellyfin full time after the ATV app re-write.
I am curious, though, what is it that makes you think Jellyfin’s software is inferior? Since I’ve been following, Jellyfin has released new features long before Plex.
Interesting, indeed, with everyone leaving Asahi.
Living conditions there continue to improve, while ours decline. A whole lot of boogie man bullshit. This article is intentionally fear mongering.
The CCP isn’t putting in a back door requiring on-site access in your litter box.
You really think they intentionally left a back door requiring on-site serial access?
Lol! 10Mbps is usually more than enough. It’s a common misconception that more speed equals less latency.
It sounds like 50 gig PON is the next logical step. We’ve deployed XGSPON, which is 10x10 Gbps shared between whatever splitter you want to use(anywhere from like 8 way to 128, we generally use 32 way splitters), and we’re testing equipment that will supposedly be supported to 100Gbps PON. Things are moving quickly!
Zigbee is wonderful. Be mindful of your network layout. Ensure you have plenty of routers strewn throughout, as it’s a mesh network.
Most smart plugs are routers, which makes it easy. I’ve had great success with THIRDREALITY plugins.
The best thing I’ve done: installed a POE coordinator in the center of my home. The SLZB-06M has been a champ.
Two huge benefits of going with Zigbee over WiFi:
- Zigbee is offline.
- Adding WiFi devices adds more interference and congestion to your network, causing instability. Zigbee rides in the same spectrum, but just a sliver of it.
More ip devices on your network also increases attack surface. Keep it simple.
LDAP can be used, which isn’t bad. There are plenty of options. It’ll never be as easy as letting a 3rd party handle it for you. But, that’s a pro in my book.
I agree the client side apps are taking some time, but the developers are absolute gems.
