Just a reminder that Canadian ownership of Bombardier's rail assets were lost because of the previous Trump administration sabotaging the C-Series on behalf of Boeing. We lost ownership of most of the C-Series program to the europeans likewise.

Then the same government still bought into the F-35 project as an appeasement, only to withdraw 10 years later.

I really hope the lesson was learned.

I thought you were going to say Ai... but then maybe you did.

They then started "evacuating" them to the east: Poland. There they had a military government outside of civilian oversight. Started with the ghettos, then work camps, then extermination camps. Evacuation became code for killing over time.

Doth protest too much?

Listen I do the same and think its a worthwhile effort. I just have been hanging out in these virtual spaces long enough and I know what people run.

Did I say we should normalize anything else? lol

Honestly, it's a tough case to defend. Sure game servers are fine and a bullshit claim by lobbyists, but who isn't using their home server to stream pirated media?

I think we should normalize buying media again. I've been getting more and more albums off Bandcamp and buying DVDs and Blurays. It would be nice to see digital releases become decently abundant for TV and Film. I sometimes rent hard to find movies off Youtube. Always comes in clutch. Who else rents you a movie anymore?

The real thing even has benefits. I enjoy having the ease of getting both english and french dubs to my favorite shows. Means I can watch them with my family.

Honestly Quad9 is the best. Its non profit and switzerland based.

I know people want adblocking DNS, but Adguard is fuckin suss with its Russian ties and for profit motive.

Honestly, I just stop using stuff full of ads. Simpler.

Is there a cheat sheet somewhere to know what projects are run by lunatics?

I only know of it because I was on Distro Watch this week looking for top mention distros I never heard of. The mentions position is likely because of this donation. lol

Red makes it faster

It never really occurred to me I might just not have those specific social skills nailed down. 😅 Because irl, I have plenty of ease chatting people up and making new friends. Same with dating or professional networking, it all comes naturally in person.

But online, in writing, it's so awkward for me. I see folks make long term friendships just hanging out in group chats or discord servers. Meanwhile, I manage to just get into arguments and not really manage to share anything interesting about myself otherwise. I might just not be finding my people, but who knows where that is right?

Anyone got pro tips for making friends in text chats or forums?
