Taxpayers. We have to want to do this.

Location: Canada.

After watching a favourite youtube clip from the show The Newsroom with the EPA spokesperson

The Newsroom

The very next autoplay video is this bit of disinformation.

Conversations That Matter

Warning that second video is brutally stupid. The comments even more so.

Google and you tube can eat my ass.

Like yelling fire in a crowded theatre. No politician is going to do it until they are out of the theatre. Antonio Gutterez, the UN secretary general is as close as we've come.

Still, through /r/collapse and the popularizers on you tube, the message is out. Everybody with the capacity to know already knows with the exception of children who are still developing the capacity to understand. Even a lot of children know where we stand.

What a mess we have made for ourselves. There isn't enough cotton, hemp, wool and leather to supply all of humanity with clothing. Every poyester blend shirt, sock and sweater sheds microplastics into the environment with every wash.

Car tires wearing away contribute the most, ev or not.

Our single use packaging food system creates an enourmous endless stream of plastics.

It's but one facet of many of our demise.

You clearly didn't follow the air quality sensor construction and usage instructions correctly. ;)

I created a dual boot to test the waters for a HTPC, and haven't had to go back once. But Linux mint did shit the bed just once recently where the wifi drivers died. Only solution was to connect a cable, download a kernel update, then back to 100%.

They will just price-fix something Galen names as his next yacht.

I am new to Lemmy so I may be missing some setting, apologies if so.

Using the mobile app on Android. When someone replies to a comment and I tap the bell icon to see messages, I can only see the reply itself, not what it was replying to. When I click on the message it takes me to the thread leaving me to scroll through the entire thread to find the comment and its reply. This is frustrating and time consuming and I often abandon the discussion because I'm not interested in looking for a needle in a haystack. This stifles discussion. It's confusing because the context of the reply is often lost without it's parent.

As an example of how it can be done better, in Reddit when you click on a comment it takes you to the thread and filters for only the reply and its parent, with the option to "view all".

Is there any viable solution to this? I can't be the only one with this concern.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
