What flavor of Linux were you trying to install? My experience on endeavoros has been pretty plug and play. I imagine it would be similar on mint, Ubuntu, fedora, Debian. If it was Linux from scratch, yeah that's likely going to be frustrating.
Earlier this year when I made the switch as I was getting blue screens at least once a day while gaming. Initially to endeavoros with cinnamon, then switched to Hyprland.
There have been some fixes that make me wonder at what point am I tinkering vs implementing a fix that should be included in the base version of the Linux flavor... Many rabbit holes over the last 6 months, many more to come.
Is this considered "hardcore"? After the mobile apps bit the dust I left and never looked back. I don't like meta stuff because of privacy concerns. Fediverse only for me
