Pen and paper for taking notes and understand that reading comprehension is a resource that has a cooldown. In other words, take breaks and learn how to glean information while reading quickly. Its a skill and it takes time. This is a decent breakdown of some academic reading techniques.

Lastly, practice and experiment. There's a difference between knowing things and memorizing, and knowing things is only half the battle. Its really hard to feel like you're progressing if you cant apply what you've learned when the time comes. Practice takes the the things you've memorized and turns them into things you know. My advice on practicing is to get weird, have fun and enjoy the discovery of learning new things. It makes the process of 'sucking until you dont' so much more enjoyable.

Yeah this is a great idea. I was thinking of doing something similar but saw someone mention cloudflare tunnels in another post and figured I'd ask the community. I appreciate you!

100% agree. That's why I don't exactly love the idea of using them more...

Cloudflare Tunnel? (lemmy.world)
submitted 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) by WhosMansIsThis@lemmy.world to c/selfhosted@lemmy.world

Just getting started with self hosting. I was wondering if anyone had experience with Cloudflare Tunnels for exposing their services to the internet. I like the simplicity and security it offers but don't love the idea of using Cloudflare. Like, I'm self hosting for a reason lol. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

For context, I'm running all of my services in a very small k8s cluster and my priorities are mostly security then maintainability. Thanks yall!

EDIT: yall are great! Thank you so much for the replies. I'm going try my luck with pangolin but its good to know I have options.

I briefly visited Belgium for 2 weeks back in 2014. I went with a big group of people who all wanted to use Belgium as the 'homebase' while they traveled to other countries for day trips and such.

My partner and I didn't know shit about Belgium and decided we were going to spend our entire time exploring and learning. We asked our host family for some suggestions for things to do and they recommended Dinant after I said I wanted to see some castles. They also warned us that people in the south mostly spoke French and didn't really like English speakers that much.

We planned to go to Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, and Dinant with Dinant being the first stop on our tour. It was like a 5 hour train ride through some of the most beautiful countryside I've ever seen. I remember feeling like I was in a literal painting as I was passing by fields of golden wheat and cottages with legit waterwheels. It was surreal.

Dinant did not disappoint. The people were super nice and welcoming. The food was godlike. The castle and museum were top notch. We liked it so much we stayed for an extra 2 days. Which kinda fucked up our schedule but it was well worth it.

I miss Belgium every day. I miss Ghent and Dinant the most. Best trip I've ever had. 10/10 highly recommend.

I been competing in fighting game tournaments for over a decade. Its a blast, even if you suck. The fighting game community is one of the most welcoming competitive environments I've ever been apart of. 10/10, highly recommend.

Mass Effect Andromeda. I feel like I'm the only person on the internet who liked the ending of ME3 but holy shit Andromeda was fucking awful.

Tips for PETG? (lemmy.world)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by WhosMansIsThis@lemmy.world to c/3dprinting@lemmy.world

Im very new to 3d printing and this is my first time using anything other than pla. So far all of my prints are lifting off the bed at the corners. They start off looking beautiful. No stringing, great adhesion, etc. But after a few layers, they start to come off. Especially on larger prints.

Heres my setup:

  • Ender 3 pro with skr mini e3 v2
  • Creality Ender 3 glass bed upgrade
  • Bed temp: 90C
  • Extruder temp: 240C
  • Nozzle diameter: .4
  • Layer height: .2
  • First layer: .45
  • Speed: 60mm/s
  • Slicer: Silc3r

I realize that asking this question is like asking WebMD to dianose my sniffles, cause it can literally be anything, but Im hoping someone with more experience can give me some pointers on what works for them. Thanks yall!

Update: First of all, thank you all so much for the kick ass suggestions! I really appreciate all of your replies. Since pretty much everyone recommended it, I went ahead and got a textured spring steel PEI plate and holy shit, it didn't disappoint. Adhesion has been fantastic. I also ended up lowering my bed temp down to 75 from 90 and pushing my hotend temp to 245 for the first layer, then back to 240. I got an enclosure to help keep the plate clean but I also stocked up on some blue dawn dish soap. I still have a little more trial and error with print speed and cooling but I'm literally getting the best prints I've ever gotten thanks to all of your suggestions. Yall are awesome and I'm really glad I posted here.
