Well, congrats to the Jacks on being the league's first dynasty

Good match so far. Some red calls that will for sure be discussed. Need a little more.oomph from the Cats, though.

[–] baronvonj@lemmy.world 2 points 20 hours ago

Super excited for the match today. My Cats are finally playing for the shield. Having never beaten the Jacks before, we're definitely the underdogs.

I don’t recall the department of Justice questioning the national injunctions legality at that time though, tbf.

That's all this ruling is about, whether a circuit court can issue a national injunction. I'm assuming that this specific question hasn't been asked to the SCOTUS before (because it's a stupid question that shouldn't have even been entertained). The EO is still enjoined in the jurisdiction of the circuit courts where a challenge to the EO has produced an injunction. So the EO itself is still going through the courts.

I know. But it is different overturning a 70 year old precedent set by judges who have all since died, versus overturning your own precedent set <5 years ago with all of the concurring judges still on the bench.

The ironic twist there is that insurance companies here should have good legal teams to go after someone else to cover it.

If something is unconstitutional then it’s unconstitutional.

Correct. But, perhaps sadly, I'm reminded of the scene in Pirates of the Caribbean when Will is complaining about rules and Jack says the only rules that matter are what a man can do and what a man can't do. The Constitution only matters if we have enough people willing and able to enforce it. And if the Trump administrations have taught us anything, it's that we need every fucking assumption to be litigated.

Well that's the thing with SCOTUS. You have to ask them to have an opinion on something. They probably wouldn't have had a problem with national injunctions under Biden if that authority had been challenged in court. And then we would have already had that precedent from literally the same judges for to rely on now.

This is actually where Twitter was good. I would always get a better response with a public @ mention to the company on Twitter.

But the bank would care about the police report for the charge back. A civil court would care about it if having to sue for restitution if the charge back is denied.

I hadn't seen anything about this anywhere. Looks like it's the Bogner Electronics ST-Pro. A pre-wired pick-guard with a set of programmable pickups, selector, and volume/tone/mode knobs. My opinion was the Strat and Les Paul modes sounded closer to their respective originals than did the Tele or hollowbody modes.

Going for a 3-peat we have the Eastern Conference champs the New England Free Jacks for the home team, and making their first appearance in the finals are the Western Conference champs the Houston SaberCats for the away team.

The final will be at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on Saturday, June 28th, at 2:00 PM EDT. Broadcast on ESPN2 and streamed live on ESPN+.

If you're there, check out the ML Fan Fest pre-game show at The Guild. Festivities being at 9:00 AM EDT with live DJ, food trucks, games, some Rugby 101 sessions, and merch booths.

The SaberCats propelled themselves into the Major League Rugby championship finals against the New England Free Jacks next Saturday in Rhode Island at Centreville Bank Stadium.

While the job isn’t finished, the Shield is attainable for the SaberCats after defeating Utah. One more win is what the SaberCats need to be champions for the first time in franchise history.

They’ve already become the most successful team in SaberCats history by winning their first two playoff matches over the past week.

Houston SaberCats have kept the streak alive with playoff wins against RFCLA and Utah Warriors to claim the Western Conference title.

Baroness got me the Two Kings kit from Stew Mac. Just finished inventory of the resistors, diodes, capacitors, etc. I'm not really sure how to measure diodes or capacitors with a multimeter. I don't even have a farad option on it.

With 28 of the 32 players being current MLR players, with every team except RFCLA represented, I'm excited to see how we fare.

Scott Lawrence has selected 32 players in his Senior Men’s Eagles squad for the July test window. The USA will face off against Belgium in Charlotte on July 5, Spain at the same venue on July 12, and England in the nation’s capital on July 19. Qualification for the 2027 World Cup follows with the Eagles opening their Pacific Nations Cup campaign against Canada in Calgary on August 22.

The MLR is heavily represented here with only 4 of the 32 players not being in the league. Only RFCLA are missing in the national squad.

Once it was over, a fun and brief celebration could begin for the Houston SaberCats. They put an exclamation point on another winning regular season, heading into the playoffs with a 10-6 record and earned the second seed in the Western Conference division.

They earned the right to host a home playoff game next Sunday night against Rugby Football Club Los Angeles as they finished with three more points overall.

This is our 4th consecutive year to make an appearance in the playoffs, all of them at home, still looking for that first playoff win though.

For the first time in its nearly 80-year history, Fender is introducing a signature bass and signature guitar for the same band, released simultaneously.

The Limited Edition Mark Speer Stratocaster and the Limited Edition Laura Lee Jazz Bass deliver distinctive tone and style inspired by Khruangbin’s genre-defying sound.

For some guitarists, there’s nothing that comes close to the sensation of chaining a dozen stompboxes together and creating atmospheric loops and drones that swirl, fizz and bubble into the realms of infinity – ahh, ambient guitar and music. Exploring ambient guitar pedals is a rite of passage for anyone who’s off-put by the cranked amps and power stances that tend to dominate popular guitar music, and translate just as well to the studio and stage as they do when you’re jamming solo at home.
