I grew up loving and watching basketball. I can't afford $80 to stream not even all of the sports.

I use Matrix, but like a lot of the Fediverse (I know it's technically a different protocol, but still), it's not normie friendly. If it were more plug n play it might take off. I just don't look forward to when they'll have ads or start making us pay. It's so tiring shuffling from platform to platform because of some greedy CEO.

I buckled down and I might be able to finish my college coursework early this week so I can enjoy the weekend!

I look forward to when just like how forearm tattoos have gotten more acceptable, we can have fun hair colors that are vibrant. One day....

Thanks~ Best believe though, in October we're going back over it so that way it's obvious that it's burgundy in all lighting, not just when my hair hits the sun. To me, burgundy is still in the red family, but isn't too "out there" of a color (I desperately wish we could just let adults have vibrant hair without fear of being judged).

It's more like homemade cornbread that other people have made that I've tried.

I personally grew up on Jiffy Mix, but when I go to a family friend's house where the Grandma is southern and makes scratch cornbread with 0 sweetness to it, and it's the scratchiest thing on the planet, I make sure to make it sweeter for my tastes. I never want to make sad, unsweet cornbread.

I'm glad someone gets it. Also I need to finish this anime.

This is a case of "faces in things", but I thought it was kinda funny. I didn't add quite enough honey and sugar to the recipe, but it was still moist and enjoyable. Making cornbread from scratch and tweaking online recipes so it doesn't taste like cardboard. I want jiffy mix, without buying jiffy mix and I mostly nailed it...but at a cost of creating evil cornbread. Maybe the next batch won't be evil?

I got compliments on my hair and it made me feel nice. I wanted my hair to be an "employable burgundy" (as much as in my soul, I deeply wanted as bright of a red as possible), but it came out a little too subtle. Thankfully, when the light is nice, it looks great and I love getting complements.

I would take the bottom right because if there's one aggressively millennial thing about me, it's skinny jeans. And you'll pry them from my cold, dead hands. They're good all year round, you never have to worry about folding the bottom into winter boots, and they don't drag on the ground when it's winter or rainy outside. Skinny jeans forever!

It's also kinda gross when it's been revealed that a lot of extensions we use for our hair contain nasty chemicals. So even if you didn't chemically treat your hair, you were still exposed to bad chemicals by other means. Makes me so glad I have microlocs!

Keep it going, guys.

Meta exposé tops bestseller chart despite company’s attempt to ban its promotion Sarah Wynn-Williams’s account of her seven years as a Facebook executive is number one on the New York Times bestseller list and has flown off the shelves in the UK

An exposé by a former employee of Meta has become a bestseller despite the social media company banning the author from promoting the book.

Careless People by Sarah Wynn-Williams, a former director of global public policy at Meta’s precursor, Facebook, topped the New York Times bestseller chart and will be fourth on the Sunday Times nonfiction hardback chart this weekend.

The book “sold a staggering 1,000 hardbacks a day in the first three days on sale in the UK, despite Meta’s legal tactics to silence the book’s author”, said Joanna Prior, CEO of publisher Pan Macmillan. “This early success is a triumph against Meta’s attempt to stop the publication of this book.”

(Was unsure to put this under food and cooking, but I consider this US News/Political, sooo)

With a new spin on cooking french fries, Steak 'n Shake is joining the campaign "Make America Healthy Again," made popular by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The company recently made a change and now is cooking shoestring fries in beef tallow instead of vegetable oil. Some Florida locations were the first to start cooking their french fries in beef tallow at the end of January.

But on March 1, the company posted on the social media platform X that all locations nationwide now serve fries cooked in "100% beef tallow... No preservatives, chemicals or additives.">

(Books count as Entertainment, right? If Zuckerberg has no haters, I am dead. Currently waiting in line for this book on Libby as I type this)

Meta Platforms META.O on Wednesday won an emergency arbitration ruling to temporarily stop promotion of the tell-all book "Careless People" by a former employee, according to a copy of the ruling published by the social media company.

The book by Meta's former director of global public policy, Sarah Wynn-Williams, was called by the New York Times book review "an ugly, detailed portrait of one of the most powerful companies in the world," and its leading executives, including CEO Mark Zuckerberg, former Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg and Chief Global Affairs Officer Joel Kaplan.

Hi! I'm newer to the Fediverse and brand new to Beehaw. I've used Reddit for years, but I'm seeking greener shores as big tech has gotten real weird.

When I'm not reading, attempting to be a guitarist or fooling with fountain pens, I like to paint my nails! Do I color in the lines? No. Do I do a perfect job? Also no. But I pick fun colors and always, always, always add glitter. Did you color your nails? I wanna see!

(Side bar, I low-key wish the Fediverse had more places for beauty inspo. Let's see pretty nails, hair and outfits, please!)
