The songs of his that I have in my rotation are:

  • On My Mind (with Yeah Boy)
  • How You Love Me (with Bright Lights)
  • Tokyo (with XIRA)
  • Hot Water (with Audien and Victoria Zero)

I guess I only like his music when he's tempered with a collaborator.

I doubt this news will change my listening habits, but it does provide more evidence I should buy and save my music instead of streaming it, so I can avoid further funding my political opposition while still appreciating their art.

Himmler was a German Nazi leader and the chief architect of the Holocaust

His pronouns would’ve been He/Himmler!

-- Elmu

I think it's probably fair to call punning on the name "Himmler" to be a "Holocaust joke", but I can also understand if someone doesn't think it is.

I vote red flag, since it's sound like something I would do. (Definitely something I did in secondary school.)

I don't know if LW is too big, but there is such a thing a too big. Ideally no single instance should have to use "federation-style" synchronization within itself. Below that size economies of scale might justify growth, above... not so much.

What's the truth around Bush I declaring ketchup a vegetable?

  1. Don't do fascism yourself. (This is harder than you think.)
  2. If it is within your power, prevent others from doing fascism.
  3. Help others that have had fascism done to them.
  4. Grow your power, in order to do #2 more often.

Avoid creating or growing an organization that has a strong hierarchical structure, as they are easier for fascists to convert/infiltrate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agzNANfNlTs Democratic structure can be better, but beware giving any power to the intolerant. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradox_of_tolerance#Paradox_of_freedom_and_paradox_of_democracy

If you are comfortable, #4 might involve physical, martial, melee, firearm, etc. training. It is not unlikely that the current fascists in power use violence to grow/retain power, and that might require violence as part of the fight. That said, I feel there's plenty of non-violent ways to fight fascism, for now.

I doubt they'll take #Arkansas, so I'm screwed either way until my familial duty is complete.

There is still a lot of disagreement about what a good diet looks like. The government propaganda on behalf of the agri-industrial complex that was the food pyramid is still around out there, for one.

It also takes time many people don't seem to have to eat well. Ready-to-eat food is near universally bad for you, tho it is at least labeled as such if you read nutrition labels or visit the nutritional information page of your favorite chain.

I'm all for better information resources with the best information we do have about diet and any other health maintenance, to reduce "self-inflicted" health conditions. But, I'm against reducing funding for treatment of people's current health conditions, whatever the cause.

Consuming the media is fine; funding the bad people (or their heirs and assigns) is not. Sail the high seas, mateys.

As a Berniecrat, I'm been advocating for making the US more like Denmark for decades.

A shame that it took an attempt to erase the sovereignty of Greenland to make this meme. 🤪

I don't use threads, but I follow a couple of profiles on there, and want to continue following and interacting with threads.net from my instance.

I don't have the experience of being harassed online, so I still think moderation at the service/protocol/instance level should be pretty light-handed. So far, I can block/mute all the content I don't care to see without being too traumatized.
