I hate this timeline. How do we make so much progress only to stumble when the idiots are hung up on fake issues to an extent that they're willing to fundamentally change the country.

It is entirely their purpose, but you will never know about it publicly. Everything related to space is classified to the highest degree at this point in time.
I've searched (not researched) a little bit and it appears that the categories that they may be referring to are petroleum products, coal, nuclear, and then renewables.
Fear and anger with absolutely no critical thought put into the issues. The two most primal feelings somebody can have.
Imagine how much further we would be as a society if we didn't have to deal with this stupid shit.
