If you pay to help the kid when they are young, there is more of a chance they will grow up to be a contributing healthy member of society.

Those in power do not want a contributing healthy member of society. They want malleable, docile workers that will do as they’re told and not challenge the system.

I believe the joke is that since they stopped paying their bills, and the decoy prevents utility workers from coming and turning off the power, that’s the free power they are referring to in the meme.

There is a difference between “markup language” and “programming language”.

I’ll say it again for those in the back:

No one sees themselves as the villain.

I’m a very lonely person so this is very hard for me to do. I like having people around and not in a selfish way, I do care for people, but I don’t do good when I don’t have someone to lean on.

This is a difficult trait to manage. I fall into this category too, and I have to keep reminding myself that it’s worth the wait to find the right person; something you should take the time to figure out for yourself before jumping into your next relationship.

Don’t forget that you’re stronger than you think. Don’t let the loneliness trick you into doing something you’ll regret. And good luck!

John Morales, the actor who played the crime-fighting cartoon character McGruff the Crime Dog, was sentenced to 16 years in prison stemming from a 2011 arrest in which police seized 1,000 marijuana plants, 27 weapons – including a grenade launcher – and 9,000 rounds of ammunition from his home.

In my personal experience, if you swat and hit a single bee or wasp once, it will leave you alone and fly away. If you repeatedly swat at and/or hit them then you will piss them off and they will sting you.

Of course if you are allergic, then do not risk it and just run the fuck away. 😊

What? Now why would some internet “doctor” lie to you about your mental health using a platform that glorifies misinformation? I’m shocked; shocked, I say.

While my son played one season of T-ball five years ago, I still consider this his first season playing baseball. In fact, a lot of the players on his team have never played before.

They did manage to make it into the second round (out of three) of the end of season tournament. This is where my son made his first big play. He was playing short stop, and the kid at bat hit a pop fly that my son managed to catch.

He was so thrilled, and shocked, by the catch that he proudly stood there with both hands in the air. Unfortunately there were people on base, and he forgot to throw the ball back infield, but all of the parents agree that it was okay given how awesome the catch was.

I jumped up so fast, and was screaming/cheering so hard, that I literally fainted (i.e. got dizzy and lost the ability to stand). I couldn’t be more proud of him.

Why do I get a sense that maybe the Breen could be related to the Ubese?

For anyone who doesn’t know, a clock movement is the mechanism that causes the hands of an analog clock to move around the clock face. The “with pendulum” part means that it also swings a weight back and forth to act as a fancy second hand:

Now, there exist clock movements that are “smart” and are network enabled to adjust the time automatically. I’m also okay with an atomic movement. The idea is to adjust the clock twice a year for DST. However, I am having a difficult time (no pun intended) finding a smart/atomic movement that also supports a decorative pendulum.

I was hoping to enlist y’all’s help to see if one exists and where I might find it.

Edit: add comments about atomic clock movements.

Surely the Founders can understand, right?

I’m watching S7E20 right now and the entire scene before the Defiant undocked from DS9 had that cinematic vibe you only get from a bonafide Hollywood movie.

And if that is too vague, here is some more context:

~I have a sneaking suspicion someone will still figure it out.~

I waited for deeper into the episode and cut the closed captioning in hopes of increasing the difficulty.

Hi Lemmings!

I have a 3.5 yo Pit Bull Terrier/Mini Pinscher mixed breed that is always anxious and scared of her own shadow.

For the past year she has lived with me in my new home, which unfortunately backs up to a landscaping supply company that operates machinery that makes a lot of noise during the day, and also is on a fairly busy road that sees a lot of traffic (and people with horrible muffler systems that would wake the dead).

When she first came to my new house she would have accidents, which is understandable. She eventually got comfortable enough with going out back to use the bathroom, and would let me know that she needed to go. In fact, if I do t respond within a minute of her sitting at the back door, she will bark so I notice her. I love it. I couldn’t be prouder.

But, during the day especially, when she goes outside she gets scared by the landscaping supplier noises, cars backfiring/diesel trucks, or neighboring dogs barking, and will immediately turn back to come inside. I have to then go out with her and command her to “go potty”. And even then, she will often try to fake like she peed, or she will flee mid poop and run back to the door. During the evenings, she’s not as scared, and is even adventurous with exploring the back yard.

She is even scared of most of the house itself: something about the kitchen terrifies her, which sucks because to get from the living room to the rest of the house she has to go through the kitchen. And the only places she really feels comfortable are in the bedrooms.

Lately she seems to have regressed with the household accidents; mostly if I leave her unattended for any length of time; e.g. grocery shopping, dropping off or picking up my kids from somewhere, etc. if I crate her when I leave, she’s fine. However, she is not comfortable in her crate — she slinks all the way to the back of the crate, and curls up into the tightest ball she can and trembles the entire time.

She is difficult to train. It originally took 2 years to get her house broken, and in that time she’s only learned sit and lie down. I have hired a dog trainer, and have tried PetSmart training for the social aspect. Both instances were lackluster. She is not food motivated like other dogs. Or, at least maybe I just haven’t found the right food to motivate her with.

I am starting to feel overwhelmed by her accidents and inability to focus through her fear; I’ve even lost my temper a few times and yelled at her for it. I understand that does not help her situation, and I do not want to give up on her (or me). At least not if there are still things I can try to help build her confidence.

With all of that said, my question is for any advice that I can use to help build her confidence, break through her ~~fight-or-~~flight reactions, and get her feeling safe in her own home.

Asteroid chronicles the journey of Spencer Coleman and his family from the “big city” to a house on the outskirts of his hometown. The film anticipates the fragmentations of emerging modernism and blends humor with social satire while highlighting a life based on procrastination and avoidance. And there's an Asteroid coming!

Can this be done without replacing the ceiling? The house was built in 1980, so I’m not surprised that there is warpage, but I’d like to hide it if possible.
