I agree a self host would be ideal.

Maybe ask if they can change the redirects to a local host and share the source for the website?

Probably after they take their bounty.

No longer evil has released a firmware hack which redirects the nest to the no longer evil servers.

It works a treat and the web interface is slick.

There isn't an app yet.

I did mine last night. Unfortunately I have already replaced my thermostat.

Thanks for putting the links from my, half arsed post.

Deffo.

Even though I have replaced my thermostat already, I tried the hack and it was pretty straight forward.

The dashboard on the website interface is pretty slick too.

Just moments after installing a new thermostat, because Google shut down the service, someone releases a firmware hack for my redundant Gen 2 Nest thermostat.

They're on the bill for Latitude 2026.

I saw them on the Sunrise stage ~~last~~ 2 years ago and I'm hoping they'll be on the main stage next year.

Did anyone join the listening part on Bandcamp last night?

Anything that came out when I was a kid or earlier is retro so anything pre 1990 is retro. Post is modern.

I heard this on the radio this morning.

Cracking track

Probably because it is quicker to align one wheel to the other, rather than align two wheels to a centred steering wheel.

I never really thought about it before, but I used to have a car where the steering wheel was about 10 degrees off after having the wheels aligned. I assume they used the nearside wheel as the datum and aligned the offside wheel. Unfortunately the nearside wheel was getting a beating when I was curbing it.

Pre smart phones there was a Bluetooth chat client for Sony Ericsson phones.

Have you tried Bluetooth Walkie ?

I've not used it myself, but the blurb on the Play store sounds like just what you need.

I don't own a treadmill but I have worked with belt conveyors!

My first guess would be belt tension.

It looks as if there are YouTube videos which show how to tension treadmills.

My only real advice is to make sure you pull the roller back evenly, otherwise you may get tracking issues (the belt wanders left or right).

Imaging going down the local and hearing this guy playing this pub classic.

This is a great watch. I remember the days of trying to program and understand how to program a 32k BBC, using the Users Guide which came with the computer.

It is all too true how we think that kids are born with the knowledge of how computers work, but it's blindingly obvious that unless they are really into computers, they are almost as oblivious as my parents.

I've noticed that there are a load of new bands without albums and only a few songs.

I saw The Last Dinner Party at Latitude this year and I'm sure their set list was more than 2 songs according to Spotify/YouTube/website.

This goes for Lime Garden, Dead Pony, Divorce and Panic Shack just to name a few.
