Russia probably can't compete with the whole world arming one country. either Russia will run out of money or Ukraine out of people. I'm betting on Russia out of money.

Bro, I'm asking you for your thoughts on an alternative and you just rage on about some perceived slight to your intelligence or what not.

If you don't have an alternative, then say so. Stop beating around the bush pretending to hoard some plan you do not possess. It wasn't a difficult fucking question you nutjob.

You haven't answered the question. Who should enforce the law? I'm not sure if you have a problem with the concept of police or with the implementation thereof.

So who should enforce the law?

This one actually got me. Had to laugh out loud.

Once more artillery is delivered and the pilot training is concluded, I wonder if the tide will turn a little in favor of the Ukrainians.

I bet you they'll start pulling their games from stores in 2-3 years or release new ones exclusively to their own. The games will be made as difficult to run in wine/proton as possible. Probably they'll introduce some new graphics layer that's windows only and since they own huge game publishers, they don't have to worry about any other platform ever.

It's not genocide, it's self-defense /s

Much better IMO than Tinder where about 90% are fake profiles or just there for attention and nobody really wants to date.

It looks like Google's long-running project to split up ChromeOS and its Chrome browser will be shipping out to the masses soon. Kevin Tofel's About Chromebooks has spotted flags that turn on the feature by default for ChromeOS 116 and up. 116 is currently in beta and should be live in the stable channel sometime this month.

The project is called "Lacros," which Google says stands for "Linux And ChRome OS." This will split ChromeOS's Linux OS from the Chrome browser, allowing Google to update each one independently. Google documentation on the project says, "On Chrome OS, the system UI (ash window manager, login screen, etc.) and the web browser are the same binary. Lacros separates this functionality into two binaries, henceforth known as ash-chrome (system UI) and lacros-chrome (web browser)." Part of the project involves sprucing up the ChromeOS OS, and Google's docs say, "Lacros can be imagined as 'Linux chrome with more Wayland support.'"

I saw that CSS and JS are supported, but something simple like

.entry.section.subject:hover {
  background: azure;
}

and

console.log("hello");

don't work for me and there's no documentation, so maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Let's bring some positivity into this place.

You will be no better than the people you'll fight against. I've seen it happen on every pro-men subreddit, and if this place isn't aggressively moderated to dispel hopelessness, negativity, and prejudice, it'll just turn into hate.

Incel, mens-rights activist, red-pill, black-pill, MGTOW, etc. don't let the haters join otherwise this community will end up just like the aforementioned.

Egalitarian from a male perspective is what we should be, not pro-male (I say male because of sex and gender).

Be excellent to each other.

Could #lemmy or #kbin be made into a #4chan replacement? As in a temporary image board on the fediverse where all discussions start with a picture, responses are image, text or both, and they are deleted after a certain amount of inactivity?

Why give money to the people that develop surveillance tech? Isn't that the opposite of fostering privacy alternatives?

Is this a joke?

These are people with experience in the industry, not newbies who have no clue about how things work. How difficult would it be for them to create their own worker owned economy?

Couldn't they spend the rest of the year setting this up?

There have been a few voices talking about adding ads to kbin. To those, I'd like to say they are probably not necessary. Mastodon is doing fine with donations (28k+/month and they do need more)

However, kbin has the advantage that it can add things like tips/badges or rewards, just like reddit. Gold stars, cake days, "highest contributor", "largest donor", "most active user", "most upvoted user", "guilded", "part of the donor club", participation trophies, and so on.

Instance owners could then connect a stripe account or some other donation service and allow people to credit an account in order to give away credits or tips or badges or something else.
