Ohhhh I did not expect such an endorsement :D

Ty a lot

Predictably rough start because solarpunk and even Reddit are not that famous in italy. Most of the “””scene””” is fine on telegram and discord so asking to speak more in public and less in private is gonna be hard but for the sake of free flow of information and a slower pace social media we will still try u.u

@db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com someone in the GUI should be stated that you need to allowlist gui.fediseer.com to ensure the functionalities u.u

Solved by allowlisting it

Cannot claim an instance because of API error both with or without mastodon

Edit solution: allowlist gui.fediseer.com

Then someone could say that foss is too much, better go open source and then the environment will have to take care of the stuff that basic licenses won’t take care of

I’d rather strive for the better and look for copyfarleft licenses

I agree with some of the points of the original thread:

  • having Twitter clone or Instagram clone but decentralized kinda sucks no matter how you put it and it’s probably not mass sustainable

On the other hand… Lemmy is just a forum that can connect to other forums. You don’t find cool subreddits searching for them, the good ones are the ones recommended by other people, usually not by search. The fediverse actually suffers from having a big user base that wants Reddit/twitter/insta but decentralized instead of having small forums/microblogs connected to each other. Also the reason why you see me often advocating for less “generalized instances” and wanting more vertical focused ones. This is easily possible with lemmy dividing by topic and with mastodon dividing by localization.

If you want the fedi to thrive, build lemmy instances focused on being a stand alone forum first and mastodon ones focused on being local first (same for mobilizon)

I’m gonna quote myself from another comment

In order from little to bigger:

  • any ssg like Zola or Pelican
  • mataroa.blog
  • writefreely
  • ghost
  • gotosocial
  • lemmy :)

Y'all need to learn to read between the lines

Maybe y’all need to stop reading different cases always with the same lens.

Altman is a social climber and even if he is playing to kick out all the people against him, openai is still a no profit. They probably will manage to change but it’s such a different scenario. ChatGPt is the golden goose of the moment in their eyes, no one will give billions and billions of euro to proton just to enshittify

If you think some bad takes make a person, again I think you are the one who should read between the lines and using less the cynism lens

“corporate parasite”

That’s the thing, they are a foundation. Proton is now fully owned by a foundation…

Right now I have no time to watch the video, do they talk about the fact that foss is not enough because it’s still easily co-opted by capitalists?

[–] ex_06@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Bro stop with this mindset

The world is not so simple and people cannot even imagine the amount of stuff Orban chooses on a daily basis. It would surprise me even if a single voter was aware and agreed on every single thing Orban does and says honestly.

This applies to every representative democracy obviously.

I was just thinking of something like this the other day!

Would this allow someone to just expose a single rss file on the internet instead of a whole blog? For example if one doesn’t want to have a ui for the blog or the files are already published to other sites

On this server we are often victim of this stuff, i hope we can all improve

I think that often the confusion when talking about solarpunk happens because solarpunk as per now it's a term that includes different subset of its characteristics without being necessarily superimposable with each other

2 examples:

  • can have solarpunk aesthetic produced in a non solarpunk way
  • can have solarpunk movements not relying on the solarpunk aesthethic

I think this reasoning applies well to solarpunk. It’s true that ethical consumerism doesn’t scale etc but we have to resist the urge to give money to the people who will commodify solarpunk just for cheap merch and media.

For example: game full of bad messages but made by a workers coop and ethically distributed > game with solarpunk aesthethic made by limited liability company that took or wants to take VCs money and run in the capital race

Hi! Is there anything like hackingwithswift (preferably as 100 days of SwiftUI) but focused on elixir and phoenix?

Hi!

In the Apollo app (basically the reason i started using reddit and the reason i also left reddit lol) there was a very useful feature: friends.

It was not a mutual friendlist like facebook, and not even much of a follow like twitter; it was more a ''favorite users'' list.

Basically I added in there people that always commented stuff I was interested in and this helped me find new communities and interesting post without relying on other discovery ways. Seen the decentralized nature of lemmy, i think it could be even more useful than on reddit.
