I remember a time where I really hesitated to help someone, and I realized that feeling of the 80%. "It's not my problem. They'll be fine. Someone else will help. I have things to do." But what happens when we all think that?

It wasn't emergent, an elderly man had fallen and gotten a bit tangled up in a shopping cart. No injuries and just needed some time to catch his breath. That feeling while walking away, knowing you helped someone though...it's pretty special.

There were similar findings in Regina about 8 years ago. About $18,000 spent housing someone with about $73,800 saved on average between hospital, ER, detox, and policing (2017 dollars). Here's another article on it from 2018.

The difference that a stable, safe, and secure place to live makes is quite obvious, it's sad this can't get more support everywhere.

Lowest bid procurement has to stop.

It would've been someone else if not Donny. Power has been consolidated in the executive branch for decades, while that of congress and the senate has eroded. A system designed to be trilateral is no longer so when one of the three can just nope out of whatever the other two say. The US has only been fortunate that it's taken this long to have someone in that office with no morals.

It was already evident in 2010 that something like this was increasingly possible, as noted in Executive Unbound by Eric Posner.

disregarding all instructions

Probably not the best practice...I'd look through the release notes between the versions you've upgraded through to be sure you didn't miss any necessary changes to the docker compose or env files and upgrade as the documentation recommends.

Looks like v2.0.0 was just released as well.

I think they're organized into individual user directories (in one location), so could probably set up a directory backup per user to their own device if so desired.

The $10/day daycare has been quite an improvement, however, there is definitely a lag in supply to meet the demand.

I do think a right to access to daycare with clear standards of education and care should exist. It really makes economic sense, both with more jobs in that industry, while also allowing parents to return to their jobs faster. They also wouldn't need to choose between returning to work to barely offset the cost of daycare or just staying at home.

There are certain applications that don't have alternatives. Sketchup comes to mind (with a specific addon). I have a Windows VM I use to run that for work.
