@yojimbo Yes, the 91/58mm Victorinoxes are uniquely non-threatening and that's valuable. I assume no matter what they do, that style will always be available.

The idea that knives aren't allowed AT ALL in many places is asinine to me. I can understand courthouses, and blade length restrictions for some govt buildings, but entire university campuses? Hilarious! My SAK comes in handy on campus sometimes.

@etuomaala For the record, if you posted multiple images, they're not visible to me on Mastodon. When I've done the opposite, posting to Lemmy with a Mastodon account, multiple photos aren't visible to the lemmy users either.

@cashews_best_nut @fujiwood If you do want a lighter like a zippo, make sure to get a butane insert, not the original zippo insert! The butane ones are easier to use and don't leak fuel.

Note that many of those new zippo inserts are made in China. Countycomm sells great "peanut lighters" which are small, circular (pill container style) and completely waterproof. They don't leak fuel either and are made in the USA.
Zippos are just such a great form factor for pocket carry

@aard It sounds like you might appreciate the Incharge X and other cables by RollingSquare, it's USB-C or A to USB-C or MicroUSB or Lightning, up to 100w PD, data transfer and no magnetic tips

@w2tpmf The translation is atrocious for sure. At least it explains the company they claim it comes from. I have heard this site recommended on r/EDC before as legitimate, but it looks like there are sounder options out there, so look there instead!

I'll edit my post

@otter @jtk I was so ready to boo in the theater when Disney's logo showed up in the intro sequence but thankfully, they had the brains to hide their presence

@edc btw, I realize this post might have a little advertising smell. but yeah obviously to be clear that's not the case. I just know it's a knife a lot of people appreciate, and would also be annoyed if people bought a Japanese knife made in China by companies that don't even have the right to use the name

@pineapplelover Maxlvledc on YT has a couple videos on EDC pens including specifically affordable ones, you'll have plenty of ideas to choose from after watching that.

Edit: I didn't read your original post over on Lemmy, and see you're looking for more premium options. There's still some good premium options in his recent videos, but the comments here seem quite useful anyways

@mymy @mouth_brood What is this a Monkeytype test?

@MrJameGumb @Mothra Oh, there's absolutely truth to it and it could easily be done, but you're right that picking locks isn't that difficult either. Long story short, locks on doors have always been a deterrent from people breaking in, not a hard block. That's how it always will be, and I think that's okay

If you're a celebrity or "content creator" though I would highly recommend against ever showing your keys online

@MrJameGumb @shalafi The broccoli at my grocery store is usually pink or yellow bands. Specifically within this chain they use pink bands to mark organic produce but the conventional broccoli also came with pink bands. We have a whole stash at home of the generic red and blue bands you get on lettuce, carrots etc, quite handy
