@Chev I point out in my posts that a phone, pocket computer, camera, dopamine rectangle, surveillance device, whatever you want to call it, is (a less important) part of my EDC, and I use it to take the photo.
I do actually carry a thumb drive!
Sure, the cloud works, but to me it's way less clunky to use a thumb drive than upload files over email and download stuff, creating digital clutter. It's also USB-C+A so I can transfer large files from my pocket computer to backpack computer if needed.
@JoeyJoJoJuniour @cetan If you're in Canada, House of Knives is the best place to buy anything new. At their physical stores you can go in and spend plenty of time checking out options, the staff are very helpful and have recommendations. I know many people who went in and had this exact experience.
Sidenote: it's hard to ship knives from US sellers because the CBSA definitions of what's prohibited is way more restrictive than actual Canadian law, insane I know. So HoK is kind of the source.
@Anticorp I haven't found a use for it yet, and it isn't as stiff as a normal pin, but many people put paperclips in their SAKs as well, so I'll probably come across a use for it at some point
@wetferret I'm not sure. It's definitely got some kind of finish to seal it up a bit. I haven't noticed any dampness after washing my hands, warping, or anything else, but it's not waterproof
Edit: I should clarify the wood came from wine barrels! So that definitely lends some durable properties
@Mojojojo1993 Yeah, myself and many people into EDC don't support carrying knives as weapons. I'm glad I live in a country where there aren't that many restrictions, although it's not the top priority
@Mojojojo1993 The Mountaineer is my main - it has nearly all the tools I need including many screwdrivers, two sizes of blade, and great scissors!
But I carry the Junior because it's a lot easier to open if I'm wearing gloves or my fingernails just ain't getting in there easily. Not really useful or entertaining tbh.
I would consider a dedicated pocketknife instead though, just for being a really nice item and also way easier to open. Doesn't matter to most people, but for EDC heads, why not?
@OmegaMouse @CKOW I realize this thread was 2 months ago so you likely have already bought something, but I made another comment recommending the Sofirn SC21 pro, which is like the Baton 3 but uses non-proprietary batteries.
@SatansMaggotyCumFart Username checks out!
The hank is useful for cleaning one's nose with dignity, cleaning my knife or wiping up a spill
