Iirc Wayland as a protocol supports rotation of Window surfaces. I'm not sure if any of the compositors have exposed it as an option. Maybe Weston

OP can't buy an nvidia gpu if they want use Linux going forward. Xorg is in sunset mode at this point, with the bleeding/leading edge distros looking to retire it in favour of Wayland based compositors. Nvidia's GBM back end in their driver is in no state for anyone who wants a problem free, no hassle Linux gaming experience.

Buying nvidia for Linux would be buying hope that nvidia straightens Wayland support out. But why take the risk when you could buy a known working amd (or even Intel) gpu today

Agreed, it gets a lot of hate tho. Directors cut is definitely superior

startrek.website definitely punches above its weight, was my first account

But this alt on reddthat.com I use more because it has down voting disabled and it keeps me more zen

  • They should pay the hosting costs of any server they pull data from
  • not run ads against the content that comes from other instances
  • Any changes they want in activity pub should be in the form of an MR on activitypub itself, and they must respect the protocol maintainers of the project if their MR is rejected. If they implement AP features outside of spec, they should be summarily defederated. We do not need another Jabber/XMPP vs Google situation
  • Any instance is free to federate/defederate with threads

they're asking for you to hand over your wallet, repeatedly

there are levels of data hygiene and levels of inconvenience people willing to put up with. Pumping less data points into the machine is still better than pumping more

I mean its just bickering about startrek here - but when you go to a specific instance to talk about star trek and he plays edit games to belittle people it sort of takes the fun out it. It's nothing as serious as gender/identity etc

We're a weird mix of nerds in our mid to late 30s, some care enough about privacy to not have Facebook, but had been on whatsapp since pre meta.

Some refuse to install new apps, because "ugh not another one"

Definitely a compromise

Staments is generally very attacky, he plays childish games with people who disagree with him. But people defend him/he gets a pass because of all the memes he reposts from other sources.

His behaviour (and also the fact there is no new star trek at the moment) has me hardly using my account on startrek.website
