Yeah, I think what I need to do is start another workbook; I have one more focused on exercises that I haven't taken a good look at yet. The one I'm using now is good (at least it seems to be), but maybe following a few different approaches at once will give me a bit of a "lightbulb moment" with grammar.

Thanks for your help, I think your suggestion about doing impromptu exercises on paper is great and I'll be trying it out.

I will have to look into that. I have a whole spreadsheet about space-themed conquest/diplomacy games that I'm thinking of trying to get them into. I have to find a game with the right feeling for this group because they're very picky (in a good way) so I appreciate your suggestion.

How do you guys convince your group to play complex stuff like this? My group's more accustomed to Martian Rails and Agricola but I dream about playing Arcs, Cosmic Encounter, or even Twilight Imperium one day.

Alternatively, how does one find a group that is naturally drawn to heavier games?

Completely fell off on vocab, so my grammar workbook (Russian) is harder to get through and I'm feeling frustrated. I really want to be able to read a grade 1 reader with few to no mistakes or unfamiliar words by winter or spring but I think I'm really off track.

Obviously, the solution is to spend more time listening to native speakers and learning vocab, but I'm in a rut. I've been exposed to about 6k words but I have a hard time with recall and sentence construction. Right now I feel good about present tense but past tense is a mess.

Anyone got some tips for motivation?

I was under the impression that this community is for news from around the world, not news that the entire world is affected by.

I was in a month-long work orientation completely over Zoom/Teams in 2022. Having 2 monitors and using picture-in-picture mode really helped me avoid losing track of the meeting while multitasking. Play music in the background if you find that helpful.

If this is an in-person meeting, push for more frequent breaks if the host is receptive to that and bring your fidget toys and doodling supplies. Chewing gum also helps me not be too restless, but obviously be respectful and don't chew obnoxiously.

Not all stimulants work the same. Otherwise ADHD-targeted drugs wouldn't even need to exist and we could all just do meth or coke or whatever.

Coffee doesn't make me hyper or energize my brain so I can focus more, it just helps me avoid falling asleep when I'm exhausted.

For reference, almost all manufacturing is done in Mexico. Final assembly is done in America and takes longer because the process still requires a lot of manual labour and quality assurance.

"The work" is highly variable depending on location so lumping it all together means that a decent amount of nuance is lost.

Oh man, I never got around to that but I have it. Do you think it still holds up even if someone didn't play it at the time?

Honestly, we're generally fine with individual Americans that are respectful. Not many of us, if any at all, will be rude towards you unless you're an openly hateful Trump supporter.

I've tried nothing and I'm all out of ideas!
