Now calculate how many nestle wells that steal people's water that makes.

We might overuse that comeback, but at least we don't have school shootings.

Had a colleague that told me about some memes with a gay porn star. He couldn't grasp that I neither know the guy nor the memes. Allegedly they were all over the internet for years. I've never seen any of them since.

This guy is a libertarian right wing incel, so I'm pretty sure our internet experiences are completely different.

Ate fried bugs. Can confirm they aren't tasty at all.

Shared kitchen but individual bathrooms? So something in between maybe?

"The CIA did some shit in the 80s, so it's totally legit to claim vaccines make your dick fall off"

The delusion about being censored just because people are objecting you view is bullshit. Equating people taking climate change serious to sucking dick is bullshit. Crying about people being toxic while being toxic yourself is bullshit.

Spreading bullshit is frowned upon everywhere, the platform doesn't matter.

The sides are missing ads and also the text needs to be interrupted with ads after every paragraph.

Also the ad that is blocking the text but has a tiny close button that is difficult to hit on mobile is missing.

At the end there should be previews of further articles which are, you guessed it, ads.

This is the first time I hear about "stone".

It's 6.35 kg for anyone too lazy to look it up.

It's intuitive for you, but things are intuitive if you grow up with it. Fahrenheit is anything but intuitive for me, even if, thanks to the internet, I've been confronted with it for years now.

I tried this one with a few adjustments: https://tastesbetterfromscratch.com/authentic-new-orleans-style-gumbo/

Aldi didn't have single green bell peppers, so I used a mixed bag. I also used another sausage than andouille, but I think it's close enough. Last, I replaced chicken broth with veggie broth because I have so much of it. Totally forgot that I have some self made in the fridge which will be used next time.

I think a lot of confusion about the fediverse stems from the fact that most services default to your local instance as front page. I know you can change it in the settings here, but the setting is also defaulted to local, so maybe that one should be set to all, too?

Is creating new communities possible right now? Or will it be? There is a feature request on github from January last year without any comments, so I wondered if it is even desired.

It seems the Sophos firewall at work blocks all access to lemmy instances.

Join-lemmy.org and lemmy.ml are blocked completely. I can see the front page on sh.itjust.works and lemmy.world, but clicking on a post results in an infinite loading circle. When I try to log in on either site I also get a loading circle on the login button.

Any ideas if I can circumvent the firewall?

Hello,

I'm a reddit refugee and used to rif. I particularly liked it because the design made it possible to read a lot of text without scrolling too much. I'd like to have the same experience here, but the two things I mentioned in the title impede that.

  1. I can change the font size, but the size of the thread titles in the feed is smaller than the font size of the comments, so I can choose between titles being too small or comment texts being too big. It would be really nice to adjust them separately.

  2. I feel there is a lot of empty space before and after texts, UI symbols etc. I really liked the "density" of rif. I get that a lot of people prefer the opposite, but maybe it's possible to also make that individually adjustable?

Oh and I'm using the android app.

Btw, off topic, but I'm kind of getting exited about all of this. I felt that reddit was one of the last spaces that wasn't completely messed up by corporate interest and I hope the whole fediverse thing will be a sustainable replacement. Keep up the good work!
