Blender hardware requirement changes after 5.0 if your rig has components older than that you need to replace them. it's not a hard requirement but otherwise troubleshooting issues get tough.

Other than that, having faster machine always helps but it really depends on what you're after. Game-ready character motion? film(realistic or stylized)? motion graphic type of animation? If you want animation with somulation their codebase are not so up to date to incorporate gpu speedup (at least for cloth).
Don't modern drawing tablets usualy have side buttons that ppl set frequently used functions? The gray bars at the side can be such but idk
