How crazy to be the useful idiot’s useful idiot.

Most movies from prior to 2010 would be drastically different if you included cell phones. It’s like saying Robin Hood would be different if you gave him a gun. Technology changes the ways we resolve conflicts.
I almost never see accurate sword fights. If they last more than two or three swings, they’re likely wrong. And Achilles jumping at the beginning of Troy was just comical. Footwork is so vital to sword play that leaving the ground is insane. But realistic sword play would be boring as fuck. It would be over in half a second and you would barely see any movement.
No, despite Ford’s claims, I don’t expect it to until the next gen F150s across the board make the switch.
More than there was before the cooks got put on dishwashing and floor mopping.
Go and now were separate products from Max. They required you to have a cable/satellite service with HVO add on in order to log in.
So Six Flags is apparently pretty ban happy. I’m not welcome in Magic Mountain anymore.
In my early twenties circa 2004 we borrowed my mom’s mini van, loaded up 8 of us and drove over night to get to Magic Mountain as they were opening. So it starts with the fact that before we started running around, I’d already been awake for 24 hours.
For whatever reason that day there was a large group that just kept cutting lines. “Excuse me, I’m trying to get up there to get my cousin off the ride.” But then they would group up and stay in line.
So big guy in front of me has some kids with him. My girlfriend and I had split away from our main group. Medium dude with wife and 2 kids behind me all loudly complaining to each other about it, I finally had enough and figured I’d have back up, so I grip the hand rail on each side and will not let go when the next few try to pull it again.
Cutter comes up with his wife or girlfriend and asks the same excuse, I refuse, he makes threats, anyone I thought was going to back me up suddenly examining their shoes. Dude swings at me and I easily duck it, but had to let go and he goes running ahead. My perceived back up offer excuses about not starting shit with their kids there, now with kids of my own I understand but back then I was really let down.
We get to where there’s finally a ride operator, the guy that threw at me is getting on the coaster, I point him out for cutting and swinging. Eventually I get on the coaster and as it’s going up I see him getting escorted away by security. When the ride ends security is waiting for me too.
“You’re out of here”
“Why, all I did was attempt to block a cutter?”
“He says you threw the first punch”
“Check the cameras“
“Doesn’t matter, policy says you’re both out and can’t come back”
So I get a tour behind the scenes to the parking lot. Girlfriend has to use the chicken exit to collect the group since this is prior to the time when everyone has a phone in their pocket. I get told they’ll let me wait in the car for my group but after that, don’t come back.
So yeah, I can’t go to Magic mountain anymore because cutters are also liars.
Reddit was built for people like us, but what it’s become is something else entirely.
I’ve got a manager that’s replaced problem with “opportunity to succeed”. Well, I’ve got 99 opportunities to succeed I guess.
In either case, how impressive is this really? If you balance the load properly to keep the tongue weight within spec, all you’re then doing is overcoming inertia and the friction of the wheels. What is the force to overcome those in either picture?
Learning their lesson late is better than never learning it at all. You question it like it’s a bad thing, but it’s good that he’s realizing that those actions are terrible and getting mad about it. Especially when he has influence and can get others mad about it too. Yes, in an ideal world everyone would always be on the client side, but I’d rather people jump sides than to double down on being wrong.
Never seen it, but after watching the preview it’s one of the few movies from that era that recognize the ubiquity of cell phones. There was a period of time where Hollywood ignored their existence with rare exceptions. Then a period of time where they had to come up with some excuse why cell phones don’t work. Then they finally started working them into the plot. My 2010 date was more about all movies after around that time acknowledged cell phones and don’t try to “break” them as a tool for characters to use. Disaster movies obviously the exception as it makes sense cell phone towers would be destroyed or circuits overloaded.
