Traffic estimates don't depend on when they last visited your street. They actually harvest that data from Android and other Google maps (and Waze) users speeds on the road in near real-time. So if you have people on your road chances are Google can tell how fast roughly half of them are going and algorithmically determine if that's on foot, bike, car, etc to calculate traffic estimates.

Companies like to make money. Cell phone makers do it by selling phones. By always having something newer and better they create more demand than if they only sell the same old thing, even if it was good enough. This way, they encourage people to buy phones before their old one is broken or out of service simply because they believe they are getting something better. If they just let people believe last year's model is still good enough, fewer people will decide they need to upgrade and they won't sell as many.

Construction on Empire Wind, which Equinor says had a gross book value of roughly $2.5 billion, started this month and was slated to finish in 2027. Once complete, it was supposed to produce enough carbon pollution-free electricity for 500,000 homes in New York. The construction employed 1,500 people, according to Equinor. The project included an onshore staging hub at the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal, which was anticipated to create around 1,000 union construction jobs.

Wow that's crazy.

I can imagine the situation where the order is committed and already getting processed in the warehouse and they don't have a way to stop it going out the door, but if they're able to intervene and add a return slip then that is just inexcusable

that makes sense, I definitely added the URL to have it autogenerate the title headline and I added the image after. that is annoying!

Sorry, I added the link in an edit. according to the article as well as another referenced in nature, the duration is "months to years" or ">3 months" so it sounds like the formulation can vary but long term enough to be both convenient and non-permanent for longer term planning.

Thanks - both for pointing out my error and adding a better source!

The technology uses tiny crystals to achieve both long-term effectiveness and the convenience of injections.

-EDIT- Fixed URL - sorry all
