Regardless of his resume, he is correct on these points.

The only ones who can fix this problem is Americans working together, rather than being a bunch of independent "rugged individualists" or whatever their self-image normally is.

Insisting that you are helpless victims of your own country doesn't do anything to improve the situation.

I will be eligable as soon as I do my 2025 taxes.

My daughter is already enrolled.

Unless there was a breakdown that cancelled a train, that seems odd.

Normally there are 3 eastbound and 3 westbound scheduled per week between Vancouver and Toronto.

Still far from ideal, but not 6 days between trains.

sigh

He was elected by the system that the USA uses to choose their leaders.

Regardless of how flawed that system is, he was chosen by the system of that country to be it's leader.

you sound American.

So now you're just insulting me.

If you're desperate for fizzy juice,

PepsiCo owns far more than just the fizzy drink category.

This is a short sighted view.

Yes, businesses these days do tend to operate on a very short-sighted model. Usually not much longer than next quarters profits.

lol yeah that’s not gonna fly in court.

Doesn't mean they won't try.

Wasting everyone's time and money in the process, while hoping to bankrupt anyone standing in their way with obscenely huge legal bills.

Why they push AI so much where it's not needed.

Because they "need" to intrude on every second of everyone's life in order to increase their profits.

How those profits will increase is probably by shoving more advertising down your throat once their "advanced technology" has been inextricably entwined into everything.

I never claimed he was good at it. Just that speaking for America is the presidents job.

Yes, a job that he is doing poorly at, but it's what you lot elected him (twice) to do.

[–] kent_eh@lemmy.ca 0 points 2 days ago (7 children)

It's literally his job to speak for all Americans.

Those Americans who disagree need to work much harder harder to fix the problems of their country which allowed him to become the leader (twice).

it's definitely intriguing who is funding it (and whatever the answer is, it's probably foreign).

And likely someone who also supports his good buddy JD.

The trend isn't confined to the Bow Valley or even to Alberta. The federal government has temporarily eased limits on how many temporary foreign workers a business can hire in low-wage positions, and employers across Canada have increasingly made use of the program.
