You're right, but I just noticed something about that (I'm probably very late to the party here): so an endpoint of unregulated capitalism is that ownership is limited to a few, who almost certainly acquired ownership through some form of class exploitation and theft. Or, to oversimplify it...ownership is theft. Hmm, sounds familiar.

You sound like one of my PMs. "Klugerama, your coworker was able to resolve a UI issue in just 3 days, why did it take you over 3 weeks to convert 50k lines of code from C# to Java?"

"there are some similarities so they are the same because it supports my argument"

ok sure but that doesn't mean it's appropriate for all people in all situations. you'll notice that they did, in fact still post it - they didn't censor it. they just tagged it NSFW.

there's been plenty of times when I'm bored at work, and could totally get away with browsing whatever on lemmy; but I don't feel like having a conversation with HR because someone walks by my desk. I'd much rather know there's something here that might offend someone (even if it doesn't offend me, or you personally for that matter).

Read the article. That's not at all what this is about.

I went to a screening of John Dies at the End in 2012 and met Don Coscarelli afterwards. He was standing off to the side chatting with someone who appeared to be a friend of his.

I'd brought my DVD of Bubba Ho-Tep and asked him to autograph it. He looked at me for a couple of seconds, turned to his friend, and said "Can you believe that it's been 10 years, and people still like this movie?" We all laughed and he was happy to sign it. Very cool guy.
