Learning things is good. It's also good that schools still teach things like that, it's great that kids have the opportunity to learn a second language, especially if they're anglophones, since those tend to live in a bubble. Even learning Latin is good, it makes you think about grammar and language itself in ways you wouldn't otherwise. The way capitalist education is headed they might not teach these things for very long, since they're "useless".

In 86, Biden said that if there was no Israel, the US would have to invent one. In the sense that if there was no ongoing colonial project in the middle east, the US would have to make one up to further their geopolitical interests. Biden isn't a 'moderate', he's a bona fide imperialist dog.

The only people who believe in absolute, unrestricted free speech are weird ancap types. The average run of the mill lib doesn't believe in it, none of the countries they stan have unrestricted free speech laws, and the facists obviously don't believe in it either.

I think it used to be a solid way to get some basic vocab, but as it exists now it has become a pointless slow grind. Their business model seems to be based around making you log into Duolingo every day, forever, so they can get ad revenue, while punishing you for making any mistake so eventually youll get frustrated and subscribe to the paid version.

Bourgeois revolutions are still revolutions. They put the old regime and the old aristocratic order to rest, which allowed capitalism to evolve into what it is today. We also don't really need to reclaim the term at all, it's already ours, since the bourgeoisie have (for the most part) disowned their own revolutionary past. They now speak of figures like Robespierre as if they were crazy, bloodthirsty murderers, even though they have the power that they have now because of figures like him.

Having veto powers means the US can stop any resolution they don't like, regardless of the amount of votes.
