@Evu @sambeastie yes prison is an established archtype that is only welcome at the highest power levels. I'd concede every game that appeared to have a.prison deck in it.

@ptc075 @MysticKetchup i think some of the power level feeling with mana drain is price memory from when it was a real baller card.

But it is very strong.

And their comments on it being a mid/late card is just so wrong. T2 Drain into T3 Zendikar Resurgent is the type of play that gives tables serious problems.

@TehPers @MysticKetchup the other way Standard doesn't compare to Standard of old, is that it now has more cards than Extended did.

@MysticKetchup Endless Ranks of the Dead/Dragons is my bet.

@xgranade @mtg I've acquired a bunch of 40k cards, because teh are mechanically awesome in some of my decks. (Claire d'Loon loves squad)

But they are just a bunch of mechanics.

@xgranade @mtg I find them hit or miss, if I don't know the source material I don't find the flavour engaging. If I do I tend to love them.

@xgranade @mtg UB being hit or miss on if players care about the set sure makes it easy for deeply enfranchised players (me) to sit sets out completely.
