"my sole exposure to religion and spirituality is abrahamic and im very rational and mad about it."

No. The Texas legislature meets in January of odd numbered years. They can call special sessions but they can't make a worse law as it'll be equally unenforceable and if they did there'd be lawsuits to get injunctions to stop the count until it's resolved.

There's likely to be appeals of this ruling though.

Anyways try to be more positive. This is a win.

We'll leave that for you to figure out.

Yeah people who have opinions on things based on a couple words used to describe it should maybe go to college to learn something.

You absolutely always make more power than what is being consumed. You need to have overage.

You're right. They keep trying to take away women, gay, and trans rights while legally imposing evangelical values on us and it's time this war on all of us ended! We have serious economic issues to tackle!

As a straight male I feel nothing looking at buff men and I can assure you it's the same for many other men. We truly don't feel much looking at them and they're not presented this way for our gaze.

About the only guys I know that do care are caring because they're insecure about their own bodies. Especially friends who exercise regularly to try to achieve these physiques.

It's okay to discuss men's issues without needing to whatabout them. Women's issues are also valid. This isn't a competition it's about media creating body dysmorphia in people.

Users are making decisions for themselves.

Red queen to D3.14

That's it. It's just the fastest springboard this garbage company had to get yet another social media platform out the door when they sensed blood in the water.

Edit: This is a response to people who think FB users will somehow discover the fediverse and be converted by this action. They won't.

Or that FB has noble goals in choosing AP or will somehow be forced to be better. They won't.

It's just good software.

The point of federated social media is about choosing who you federate with. North America for example contains 3 countries and they don't all need to be federated with each other.

Federation is as much about drawing borders as it is deciding who you ally with while still keeping your own autonomy. It is entirely within the point of federation to not federate with everyone.

[–] mrpants@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago

Exactly this. I'll spend more time not driving to avoid traffic than I will not cycling to avoid weather no matter the extreme.

  • No server operator needs to federate with you.
  • No server operator needs to tolerate things they don't want on their instance.
  • No user of an instance needs to personally curate their own extensive never ending blocklist of users and channels they don't want to see.

Quit your pseudo-intellectual whining and choose what instance(s) work for you. If you think regularly interacting with shit content somehow helps you stay out of an echo chamber then go ahead and make a second account on those garbage instances full of hateful people. Then you can read both the decent servers and the trash ones and be the fedora wearing ackshually right fair and balanced uber nerd you always wanted to be.

Edit: The huge number of upvotes on this post compared to the low numbers on the whiney imposers' posts is proof of exactly where this community places its priorities.
