They weren't able to add more because a Republican Congress cut down approved funding to do so.

The "like your plan you can keep it" depended on private insurance continuing to offer plans that would not be tax advantaged. No additional funding was needed to see that that wasn't going to be viable.

It's not okay but it's not as big of a deal as you're making it, moreover it's been well reported that she renounced it apologized and since corrected it, so it's more to the point that it doesn't support your original argument.

At the beginning of the scandal, the content of those emails were treated as faked and the first response from the media was to self censor stories about them.

That's actually part of what made it a bigger story, is that when it later came out that they were real instead of people finding out about it months and months ago they found out in bits and pieces over time. In that instance the censorship actually likely hurt the Clinton's more than it helped; but the outrage is still felt mostly on the right as they saw it as another in a long line of censorship decisions that targeted the right.

The only reason he accurately predicted the outcome of Obamacare is because as soon as Republican states no longer had a democratic leadership to contend with they gutted the programs and made them a hollow form of their former selves. Predicting that isn’t exactly rocket science if you’re the one causing it.

That's not actually true. Once the plans were no longer eligible to add new members in; they became plans that could no longer add news subscribers into; meaning that the Insurance companies would have an ever decreasing group of people to pool their money with; making the plans ever more risky. Most of those plans stopped being offered long before Republican governors choose to not expand Medicare coverage.

As for all your other stuff I don’t think we need to go farther than bringing up Clinton’s emails to see that your arguments are reaching.

These emails are valid emails. They're not fakes. During the election; media outlets treated them as if they were fakes.

Hostages don’t work…? Why would they be paid? They are just held for ransom. Are you dumb?

Yes because they're currently being enslaved. Just because that makes Hamas look bad doesn't make it untrue.

The Nakba destroyed the villages and cities of, and displaced over 70% of Palestinians to fund the state of Israel. The land Israel is built on is literally stolen from NATIVE Palestinians.

Nakba happened in 1948. If it was 1960 we'd have an argument (there was a war in the 60s). But several generations of people have grown up with this reality now. And since then the state has absorbed millions of refugees from the rest of the Middle East and North Africa which expelled and displaced Jews from their societies. From Iran alone as an example, Israel accepted nearly 150,000 refugees forced out.

So ya Nakba was bad, but so was the Trail of Tears or Wounded Knee or any of the millions of atrocities humans have committed. Most societies are built on land stolen from Native populations. The atrocities of yesterday can't justify the atrocities of today because everyone has an atrocity they can point to.

HOW CAN YOU DEFENT ISRAEL???

Easy. They're not the ones conducting slave raids and parading raped women and girls through their streets to cheers. They didn't kill 40 children (beheading admittedly only some). They pushed for a return to the 1967 borders going so far as to evict all settlers from Gaza as a "prove it" deal for peace. They've shown a willingness to trade land for peace as evidenced by the Sinai deal, sending the peninsula back to Egypt.

And Gaza has proportionally received aid from the west (adjusted for inflation) at about 6x the Marshall Plan, which more than pays for the land stolen. The Gaza strip should be the Singapore of the Middle East but they've squandered the aid they've been given attempting to implement endless warfare.

Click the link. Hamas doesn't deny their desire to kill every Jewish person.

[–] mwguy 0 points 2 years ago (2 children)

No, that's precisely what I've been arguing. Gaza has the 1967 borders and the same borders it had in 1949 after the armistice from the 1948 war was drawn.

Gaza isn't colonized. Israel pulled out unilaterally in 2004 and evicted every Jewish settler, some at gunpoint.

[–] mwguy 10 points 2 years ago

I mean it does though because of the claim of 500 dead bodies that magically appeared and then (not a joke) dissolved like salt into water once it was clear it was IJ at fault and not the IDF.

Israel has largely been pinpoint with its strikes and when you compare it's released maps of Gaza's tunnel networks from the last war with the BBC's map of its airstrikes it's very clear what they're doing.

Well it's likely because both sides have seen instances where something that is absolutely true be silenced with a "disinformation" or "false news" justification. In recent memory, it has been more "left supporting" news stories that have been silenced than "right supporting" ones that have been falsely silenced. But in recent memory:

  • Joe Biden's son's laptop. Later confirmed to not be Russian and to be accurate.
  • Various emails from the Clinton Campaign being leaked. Claimed to be faked but largely proven accurate at the time of the leak (via DKIM) and with future legal action.
  • Several stories about Biden's declining health. Some of these during the primary pissed of the Bernie wing of the party for being silenced, some during the general pissed off Trump supporters. Biden is 80 years old. Everyone 80 years old has declining health but discussion of it was generally verboten.
  • "Lab Leak Hypothesis" Still not proven true or false but believable enough that several government agencies believe it to be credible.
  • Origins of the "Russia Collision" story being a person affiliated with Clinton/DNC.

And there's a long list of obviously biased "fact checkers" making obvious mistakes. Like claiming Romney was lieing when he accurately predicted the outcome of Obamacare a claim that they would call the lie of the year on behalf Obama for repeating in 2013. I pick on polifact for being left leaning but there's similar right wing "fact checkers" doing similarly biased fact checks.

No Mr. Personal Pan Pizza, I'm saying that theyake ~1bn/yr worth of attempted murder and it takes a multi-billion dollar consisten investment in state of the art anti-missle technology to keep those attempted murders from being real murders.

Now if you have tiny little crust and limited toppings options, you might be okay with the intent of an organizations activity to be genocide to the detriment of all of its other responsibilities.

But us more calzone minded folk have folds in our brain. And realize that the intent to do genocide is bad. And taking actions to commit genocide is bad. And furthermore the abandonment of their domestic duties and impoverishment of their own people to accomplish their goal of genocide is generally as indefensible as the purchase of a pizza that can't quench your hunger.

Rape and enslavement? Bro that is PURE propaganda juice.

On 10/7 they not only raped multiple women, but they paraded raped bodies through the streets of Gaza to cheers.

And they have hostages. Those hostages aren't being paid. They're being enslaved.

And the Palestinians are saying “until we are free we will keep fighting”.

Gazans are free and have been since 2004.

WHAT THE FUCK WOULD YOU EXPECT? A colonized people will keep fighting, forever.

There are zero colonies in Gaza. I'd expect this sort of violence out of the West Bank which is actively being colonized. But not the strip. The violence out of the strip largely justified the colonization efforts in the West Bank in the West and is the #1 reason the US doesn't push for an end to West Bank colonization.

I'm going to ask what I've asked others who have made this "point" have you googled it.

Like this is a pretty basic, fundamental goal of Hamas. It's not even denied by them when asked.
