I have an issue translating this name for my family. Are these eastern barn owls (Tyto javanica), american barn owls (Tyto furcata), western barn owls (Tyto alba) or any of the three?
Now that I look at it with attention, it has eyebrows!

At a time I didn't have wifi, I would not share connection with younger guests. There was no way I would use my phone to connect to internet the bloody smart tv in the heart of our share living room. One of my favorite photos of a failed juvenile Great Horned Owl fledge from my archives of 2023. Owlet made the attempt, couldn't fly to Mom's tree, crashed in a bed of leaves. Mom flew over to the nearest tree and tried to coax it to climb up the tree to her. It sat for almost an hour and finally ran to the tree and quickly climbed to Mom. I was a rookie photographer at this time and missed catching the little one "running" up the tree. What an experience! Photos taken near northern Minneapolis, MN.
