although I would prefer to see more secular politicians, if we are going to have a leader who's religious its good to have more diversity so christians don't gain too much of a majority

8bitdo is a good buy. especially if you ever want to use it with a switch.

yes we should, we don't need that shit spreading onto Lemmy, even though they make good laughing stock

nobody is helpless in pvp games like arc, i've squad wiped people who had far higher end gear than me during the play test, and had the same done to me. if you don't enjoy competition then don't play a pvp game??

everyone here is a leftist nerd, and the united states is at risk of falling under right-wing fascism.

thats what i was wondering too, the other guard dogs friendly fire all the time, but arc weapons normally one shot helldivers. im hoping that they either only shoot away from you or they do reduced damage to helldivers

[–] randomname@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 months ago

a bit of damage reduction

it's supposed to be sticky like a thermite, except it repeatedly stuns an enemy instead of blowing up. I'm kinda hoping it actually arcs instead of just being like a sticky stun grenade

Making a cup of coffee or a smoothie at 11 AM and sitting in silence at my computer or on the couch, then going for a short walk if it's sunny out. There is a serene stillness at around 11 AM when everyone is at work or already where they want to be, and I can only hear the wind, birds, and my own footsteps.

I just need a break from other people sometimes.

luckily a close friend of his has taken up the mantle, and they have a team of artists that miura trained to replicate his art style.

That toddler that got shot in a road rage incident a while back. I broke down when I read that the child said "Mommy, my tummy hurts" before he died. I think it hit me so hard because I have a little brother who was around that age at the time.

the new vine swinging and climbable trees gives the game's combat in forests a lot more depth than it had. I'm just sad nobody is playing the primitive mode now, since it would have been perfect for the jungles

just wondering cause that would be sad

Well I feel like a real idiot right now, I've played stalker anomaly for a long time now. And because I like a stutter free, high refresh rate experience. I hadn't used the graphics upgrade mod. Well my dumb ass didn't fully read through the description, and it turns out it actually increases your performance..

Sure enough I booted up stalker anomaly with the screen space shaders mod, and the game runs a little better than it did. and looks like an AAA game from 2018.

I dunno if any of you play stalker anomaly, but don't skip over this mod.

Is there any retro consoles that you never lived up to their potential? where the games fell short of the hardware?.

Personally I feel that the NDS was under-utilized, as it was a fully 3d capable console, that was used mostly for 2d pixel art games, and platformers. When it was able to support full 3d platformers and even a fan remake of portal.

Thanks to Wiimmfi, Modded Wii's and any DS can still play online. even using Dolphin or MelonDS.

I really loved stalker 2 but between the blood suckers that take 4 mags to kill, and crashes and corrupted save files. I had enough and I'm back to playing anomaly. anyone else?

I'm a junior in highschool and will be graduating next year, and the degree that makes the most sense to me is computer science. I've always loved using and tinkering with technology, and learning about it when I can.

I've taken the CS50p course as an introduction to coding, and have really enjoyed the problem solving nature of programming. I just don't know what the industry is like, and people keep saying the job market for CS majors is terrible. so I'm not 100% sure that a computer science degree would be right for me. any advice?

update: I've gotten a lot of good advice from comments and have decided to start a personal project of some sort, to test the waters and see if this is something I can do and enjoy as a hobby outside the CS50p course. thanks to everyone who responded!

I've tested it in several games and had good results, especially in those that are CPU bound and vary in frame rate a lot. below are my qualitative results from different games. My monitor is 180hz 1440p, frame gen is on it's default settings, and when using fixed mode I cap my fps at 90.

Teardown: Keeps the game looking smooth even when doing higher amounts of destruction, looks better than a fixed multiplier because of the high variability of the game's performance depending on the situation.

Helldivers 2: Slightly worse artifacting, also slightly smoother when in extreme situations with lots of enemies on screen. I prefer a fixed multiplier because of the lower artifacting, but its honestly about the same.

GTA V Enhanced: For some reason adaptive frame gen gives me unplayable levels of input lag in GTA 5, and unstable frame rates, whereas a fixed multiplier works fine.

Noita: the exact same.

anyone else have thoughts on this update, or lsfg in general?
