If your gaming pc is using as much power as a house heater you have a massive problem lol
I gotta admit though, 300W from my PC (at peak load) is plenty to keep myself and my room comfortable. And unlike heaters you get to play videogames at the same time

They also collect a bunch of telemetry. There are ways to disable that of course

The crypto rush transitioning into insane GPU prices allowed me to buy and sell my RX580 for the same price several years apart lol. And then the prices came down so naturally I upgraded. I started with 2.3, it was a bit daunting. 4.4 though was so fun. Even up until like 7 or 8 I remember rooting via a simple app and then the world was your oyster.
On the topic of practical changes, it took them until 11 to add an audio output switcher to currently playing media notifs and even then they made them far uglier and less functional.
