I've had the same issue with episodes generally. I have a python script that runs on a regular basis that just updates the episode number based on the premier date.

Okay I didn't understand OPs point I suppose. Worth nothing that they are designed to withstand airplane hits.

There's no 100% safe level because any level carries some risk.

Actually we don't know that and there's no valid empirical evidence to support that claim. We only have data at moderate to high levels. There's a big gap between walked passed a container of level waste and got impacted by a nuclear destination.

The model assumes a linear relationship between dose and health effects, even for very low doses where biological effects are more difficult to observe. The LNT model implies that all exposure to ionizing radiation is harmful, regardless of how low the dose is, and that the effect is cumulative over lifetime.

Emphasis mine. Sure that's a valid model, but not backed up by concrete empirical evidence.

This is just straight up fear mongering. Say what you will about the economics, but the idea that there's no safe amount of radiation is ridiculous (we don't know, but presumably it's okay in some amounts since you're getting radiation doses every day even not living near anything nuclear).

The idea that NPPs are some unsafe technology just waiting to explode is dramatic and untrue.

No there's some ideas out there. Concepts like heirarchical reinforcement learning are more likely to lead to AGI with creation of foundational policies, problem is as it stands, it's a really difficult technique to use so it isn't used often. And LLMs have sucked all the research dollars out of any other ideas.

I think they were even instructed to be "quiet". And they all just fucking fell in line.

I'm not disagreeing with your experience or trying to defend their behavior.

I'm providing reasons for how they ended up with such toxic attitudes and beliefs. I don't think they woke up one morning and said fuck that guy, for example.

Maybe a controversial take on Lemmy to defend religious people but here goes. I don't think it's fair to place the blame on these people. I think for the most part, they are doing the best they can with the skills and capacity they have. None of these people, who you are denigrating by comparing them to literal animals, are born terrible people.

So ask yourself, who is to blame. Is it the fearful, working class person to the left of you in the store? Is it your neighbor who is fearful of transgender people because they don't understand them? Or perhaps the family down the road struggling to make ends meet and don't have the capacity understand the real cause of their struggle.

Or is it the media culture that constantly instills fear and hate into them. And the church that no longer preaches godly values, but is instead filled with grifters and charlatans. The rednecks are not the cause of the US turmoil, they are not your enemy. What is the difference between a redneck and someone with a successful career? Opportunity. Care. Support. Anyone can be successful with support.

It is the capital class that seeks to sow fear, hatred, and division because thats the only way they can retain power. A united working class is an existential threat to their existence. The "dumb rednecks" are vulnerable and hurting and they have been exploited. Place your hate where it is deserved, the ultra wealthy, who for decades have been allowed outsized influence to manipulate the people of the US.

I think it sounds like you want a paid product that just works out of the box. Jellyfin has some rough edges sure, but it's also a volunteer project for the most part.

I've got to disagree or clarify with some of these points. These points seem subjective and I feel the need to say something in case others are trying to compare plex/jellyfin.

  • Hardware acceleration works just fine? Unless there's some hardware specific issue?

  • The difference in apps is because there's two platforms. The web player (with CSS themeing) and the native (like on Android, which is a straight up android app, not a web page). There's some capabilities that you can only get on Android if you build an app instead of a web player. There's only like one guy building the android TV app.

  • Unfortunately just one guy working in his spare time on the android TV app. I've never had subtitle issues either (might be a good time to open a bug in report?)

  • Jellyfin "remote" is pretty rudimentary. You'd be better off just accessing it through a tunnel anyways -- and then youd have access to your own just not your server.

You're really underestimating the contributions of people like the COO (Shotwell, who by all accounts, really reigns Musk in) and the actual engineering talent at SpaceX. Musk is hardly the first to come up with some of the aerospace ideas, but SpaceX is the first to push through the failure to success through a rapid prototype model.

I was actually kinda interested in the upcoming book... Can anyone else confirm if his work is garbage? I'm not super familiar with him.

This is a weirdly hostile comment... That comment describes parenting experiences for a lot of parents. Is that the absolute reality of everyone with kids? Of course not, but kids consuming a lot of time and resources is absolutely true.

Can anyone that's using the new rewritten android mail app comment if it has the tracker blocking like it does on desktop and iOS? If not are there any plans for this?

I've never played the OG FF7 but I loved Remake. Beautiful environments, great music, story, and characters. I rarely pick games back up after finishing them, but I finished remake twice.

I was really excited to play Rebirth, especially after seeing the all the great reviews, and wow what a let down. The graphics are downgraded, the story is filled with Ubisoft style open world bloat, loaded with pointless minigames. It felt like SE tried to pad out the game with as much time wasting garbage as possible. I put the game down shortly after reaching the second area and haven't felt compelled to come back.

Does the game improve at all later? Is it worth pushing through?
