essentially this is the UKs attempt to fight illegal immigration. Everyone will have to have a digital ID card in order to legally work and live in the UK as well as show proof of citizenship.

this won't work. I have family in England, most of whom are elderly, and judging by how long it takes to get responses to text messages and emails it's just not going to work.

The Gail Kim drama is Hilarious to me. So apparently awhile back she tried to get a job at AEW, AEW wasn't interested, and thus the fall out we're seeing today.

Soooooo it's Arch with a bunch of shit you don't need. I mean that's it? nothing improved? performance tweaks? custom kernel? it's just arch with hyprland and I think a custom menu purely for styling? oh and the hyprland config opens Twitter for you too with a keybind...wow.

yeah fuck it you can close them all.

For awhile I used Amazon Lockers because packages would constantly get stolen in my build. There was a locker near by that was great and worked well. just put in your code and you're good to go.

Then Amazon decided "no, we have the opportunity to get everyone on the app when they want to use a locker lets have it where you can only open a locker via the amazon app" problem is the damn thing never works. So they replaced pretty much all the lockers in downtown Toronto with these horrible bluetooth ones simply because it forces people to use the Amazon app.

fuck em. stopped using Amazon after that.

It's not just that but corporations also support Trump because it's good for business. So not only do said politicains fear trump, they fear the nations corporate overlords.

Honestly the one Linux community that has been the nicest and most helpful for me has been the NixOS one...but I don't use the official channels. I tried but like you said it seemed to be anything and everything EXCEPT actual Nix and NixOS.

outside of that your average NixOS user has been a pleasant experience to deal with.

Meanwhile if you step into the Arch forums you have like ONE moderator with the DBZ avatar that rules with an iron fist and I for one applaud them for it.

yeah I was also thinking that. a light weight distro with like XFCE or just a barebones WM like DWM or Sway or whatever. It doesn't need to do much, just run a couple things. so slapping KDE or even GNOME on it would be overkill.

yeah...that's totally what i'm doing...

Saudi Arabia all of a sudden has become a Teenager from the late 90s/early 00s. Just buying Wrestlemania, Videogame companies and events, etc.

Next thing you know they're going to buy Mountain Dew, Doritos, JNCO jeans and the band KoRn.

I really enjoyed The Social Network and I at least hope they have NIN doing the score again for this one.

I got started on NixOS on a whim really. I distro hopped every so often and like a month ago I wanted to try something different. Already used Arch, Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, etc but figured I'd give NixOS a shot.

At first I hated it and it just confused the hell out of me. Then when someone told me I should use flake for my config so I could through it in a repo it just clicked. Once you figure it out and "get it" it just becomes so easy. I'm still a noob at it but I absolutely love NixOS. It just makes everything so easy when you got everything in a flake with a config and home nix. Even backups are easy as you literally can just put it in your config to run. I even have it how where it'll toss out old generations after 10 days automatically.

Plus the fact I can just use stuff without actually installing it is awesome. as a Dev NixOS is brilliant for that.
